Good morning Cadre, a very nice shave for my last day in the shop before a nice long weekend… Well, not a long weekend for me but a nice weekend nonetheless

We plan on a nice Puerto Rican meal at our favorite Puerto Rican restaurant for our anniversary on Sunday. since we didn’t have a chance to go anywhere last night

Today started with a very nice shave with NERO by PCN. The vector with a brand new blade was flawless as expected, and the noble otter synthetic produced enough lather for 800 shaves.

Three passes DSBBS, and finished up with witch hazel, talcum powder and surprisingly a GOAT match to the soap, YSL’s original rive gauche pour homme

A fantastic way to finish off this week in the shop

Have a great Saturday folks

Shavette Series Day 4
08.31.2025.jpg
A lil bit Vintage, a lil bit new, and a lil bit sketchy! Day 4 of the Shavette series and the one I regretted doing. This is actually a one time use disposable bringer of death. Light, cheaply made, and the sharpness of a nun trying to cuss. These were primarily designed for salons and nape of the neck shaving only for cosmetologists that wanted to give thier male customers a nape of the neck finish, without having to have the training to shave. They come pre packaged, and sterilized and are also made for barbers that , in some states, cannot use straight razors, nor removable blade shavettes.

wonky blade exposure, one tme use, and horrible ergonomics made this a stunt shave at best. chatter, angle issues, and a bit of crimson, made for a DFS shave only.

thankfully the Williams Menthol was slick enough to mitigage further damage, and some testing of some new brushes I will be carrying in the shop, as well as Vintage inspired British Sterling, made fo a passable shave.

Have a Blessed Sunday Folks

Shavette Series Day 5

09.01.2025.jpg
Finally this series is over, and in a proper way, with a Shootout with the Essence and DX. Both are fantastic, but the edge goes to the Essence. @CBLindsay and Barba provided a wonderful shave as did the Barba aftershave. Nice to be back in DSBBS territory.

Have a Nice Labor Day Folks
