Noble Otter set for my Friday shave. This tome logbook. Sorrentino on lather duty and the GOAT SE Razor for removal. Aside from my straight razors, this is absolutely the best razor in the stable.

3 passes, alum, Yardley Talc, and the Logbook AS, and EdP

Some rain overnight and a cool morning along with this shave, makes for a great start to the day!

Camping is only 3.5 days away!

Have a nice Friday Folks

A little bit of an archival shave today. With Paladin at the forefront, Natchez trace is a very interesting shaving soap from the long unobtanium Paladin shave soaps

With bay, pine, cedar it’s a nice bright warming fragrance. Also from the archives. An Otto Roth New LC. This Longcombe razor was actually the original before Gillette purchased this company.

It was a gift from the monkey and actually the second DE razor I ever owned. I’ve allowed it to patina rather than getting it refinished still a fantastic, smooth shaver and a three pack DSBBS shave was in order.

Da Moos for aftershave, and then followed by Goodfellow number six EdC for the finish

Hope everybody has a wonderful Saturday

Early shave Late entry from the Lake

Continuing the SV series, and this time since we were headed to the mountains and lakes, Stella Alpina was on the Docket

Top Notes of Lemon, Bergamot, and Basil; Middle/Heart Notes of Cistus, Myrtle, and Eucalyptus; and Base Notes of Cypress and Amber. The fragrance is fresh, clean, and masculine, featuring the essence of the Edelweiss flower from the Alps, balanced with citrus, aromatic, and woody elements.

Very nice “o-dark thirty” shave before the drive, and now 2146 hrs as we upload

Night everyone

By the lake shave today. Remote shaves alway remind us how good it is to have a shave den to shave from

That being said, nothin like shaving outdoors, with the lake, the outdoor air, pine trees, and all the sounds of nature interrupted by the blathering of a barber and the scrapage of whiskers.

A bottle of water to rinse and a bowl for cleaning, a a succesful 3 pass dsbbs shave

Enjoy your Thursday folks!

Rained most of the night and still.. much needed for the lake and the state. Windows open low 60’s and just beautiful. To wet and rainy for an outside shave even under the awning. Gotta love sideways rain.

So a shave in the coach today with the Vector and as expected a good dsbbs shave. Some Vasilli’s of the 70th EdP, and the whole coach smells wonderful

Its Friday, and just relaxing. Have a great day!

Finally back at the home Den and continuing the SV Series with .......

Back to the shop today to begin my work week and it looks like it’s going to be a busy one

So what a day to start off with a vector shave with a gin and tonic inspired otter. Three passes no EDT just the aftershave some English fern talc and off we go.

Last night was the season finale of alien Earth and this series did not disappoint. If you are an alien fan now the long wait till season two. Also, Tulsa King started it. It’s new season and it’s as expected. Awesome.

Anyway, time to shave and cut hair. Have a great day.

Although a very nice shave this morning, there are some real stressors going on at the ranch, which I’ll get into later
The MDC Fudge is fast becoming one of my favorites and a very nice replacement to English fern

So today the Osprey was on whisker duty, the shave mask on lather duty and a wonderful finish with English for Inc. and of course, the Castle
And Forbes

The shaver I guess been coined the Barber Dave shave

At the ranch:
Well, about 48 hours ago, we started noticing that the temperatures in the house were starting to increase and no cold air was blowing out from the air conditioner. Well yesterday a technician came out and it was discovered that we had a very large leak in the coil and our condenser was starting to fail now it should be noted that this is almost a 30 year air-conditioning system. To fix it, however since it was using the old Freon at $450 a pound we opted for having them give us a quote on an entirely new air conditioning system.

So, that is what’s happening next Thursday, but unfortunately, we have to suffer through the heat until then the company was kind enough to drop off some portable air conditioners to try to keep us up and going, but last night was sleeping on the couch, which was a mess, so tonight it looks like and probably until next Thursday when they’re coming to install, we will be sleeping in the motorcoach thank God we have it. So this weekend’s zoom call as well as The drinks and Dave show maybe remote from the motorhome again

Anyway, some tens of thousands of dollars later will have a new unit hopefully by Thursday. I guess we should be happy. We did get 30 years out out of this air conditioner and this was something that was expected and thank God it didn’t happen in the middle of June or July or it would’ve been miserable. Our main concern is the comfort of the animals because they’re the ones walking around with a fur coat thankfully, they’ll be fine.

Anyway, the lovely fun of homeownership hope everybody has a wonderful day

Yeah...we've needed a new AC for several years now. Ours is a roof top combo AC/Heater. Fortunately we have a wood stove for heat and a swamp cooler to aid in cooling (except for Aug/Sept when its so humid). I am pretty sure I need a new roof too. I am figuring I can put a down payment on a new home somewhere else for the cost of a new AC unit and new roof so we are planning a trip to AZ in the near future to explore that option further.
