It’s my Friday today, so waking came hard today and it was one of those days where you walk into the shaved and point your head in the direction and say OK that’ll work so somewhat of a smorgasbord

But, as always the shave gods always seem to make it work in synergistic pleasure. The Savon Nu is a great soap and being unscented. Anything will match with it. @thecajunblade

The Tedalus a wonderful job as always , and a pleasure to use even on a sleepy early morning, Saturday at 21°

Finished off with the ethos lime skin food, and then followed it with, what is fast becoming a favorite flag of mine Azzaro Wild Mint

Have a fantastic Saturday folks

From the unobatanium archives today. As Penhaligon's continues its decent into the bowels of British Sewage Hell with its discontinuation of classic English Scents, for a more "Who knows" vibe, and going from one of the best Fragrance houses to one of the worst, it is nice to still have some items from the glory days, when Pen's made a full line of shaving gear.

On of these, long since gone, is Bayolea. It was a modern take on a Barbershop scent, and truly wonderful. Also long since gone, the Weber PH Classic. One of the 1st all Stainless Steel razors and at $79.00 one of the most inexpensive ever made. Sadly the company succumbed to Consumer complaints about a "Wavy Blade" issue with the top cap. Although this was a small issue, on a small number of razors, some Forums, and their members were relentless in their comments and complaints, and never gave the chance to the manufacturer to "make things good" which he tried, but people on these forums, and the moderators of those forums, seemed to care less that they were destroying a Artisan. It should be noted that the Manufacturer did not "always" handle the complaints well.

it was sad, as he tried to re-manufacture the top caps, and sell the Handles for a time, but those folks who felt slighted never gave a chance and continued to "Badger" him. So, like so many artisans he went unobtanium, even though the razor, if you got lucky and did not get a wavy top cap, provided a perfect shave, as it did today

Anyway a nice 3-pass shave today, with a Nacet Blade ( of which I have not used in ages ). The Normal cast of accoutrements and a great day

AT THE RANCH: Day 4 of freeze warnings but no precipitation... I mean if you are going to freeze, then at least give us some snow, or rain. Averaging about 28 degrees in the am, has @AvocadoQueen stressing over plants, and it makes our yard look like it have wandering specters, especially at night when letting the dogs out and having them bark at sheets and freeze cloths. Forecast shows a tiny warm up for a few days then a colder storm with some precip. We hope

Hope everyone is having a Marvelous Monday

Be sure to corral your herd of psychedelic toads and bring them indoors. That said, I hope you get your precipitation soon. Regarding your razor and its artisan’s business demise, that forum tended to have its own “group speak”, so when one spoke out, rabid hordes would quickly chime in to enthusiastically agree or vociferously disagree. It was an interesting study of clannish behavior, much like Dr (and Dame) Jane Goodall’s chimpanzee studies. 🦧

A very nice shave for "my Sunday" . Tuesday for the rest of you hooligans. A very nice shave after the post shave trainwreck with the Killer Weber, LOL (see video for the blood). More unobtanium with the Cade UFO shave soap. This is one of my oldest soaps in the den at almost 15 yrs and still is 3/4 full. Typical of French Milled soaps. 3 passes and really nice with a gel silk protein finish and the nice warming of L'Occitan edt for the cold day

What a difference a day makes

Have a nice Tuesday Folks

An aviation theme shave today, with a very unique fragrance profile. Don’t ask me what it is. It just smells good it being a workday. The vector got the call up and did a fine job on a three pass DSBBS shave.

The Hoffman’s products were introduced to me by @Gbsher and are very unique in both sent and profile and the shave soap is very very nice. This is my first Hoffman’s set, but I will be sure to get more

Have a great Wednesday folks

Very nice shaved today with the Osprey, Mitchell’s Wool fat, and pacific Prince aftershave followed with Seneca EDT

The Pacific Prince aftershave is your typical aqua Velva blue wannabe, but still a nice barbershop powdery scent

Of course the Alum and Talc

Have a great day folks

Morning folks. My Friday today… ok its Saturday, but finally the end to my week at the shop. Wanted to end the work week with a favorite set up, and what a shave.

Was lazy this week, as I did not even reach for a str8, not even the Tedalus. Not hard to do, with a line up of Blacklands, and especially the Vector, which was used twice this week

The shave with the PcN Verde match with AdG is alway such a treat for a 3-pass DSBBS shave

At the Ranch:
A new Jeep in the stable will be fun, especially for a tow behind for the Coach, and even more fun for @AvocadoQueen ‘s Rock hunting adventures

Hope everyone has a great day and beginning to your weekend!

MLK and Inauguration day, so why not an All American Shave, and like baseball, the pastime of a Barbershop Shave.

for the Inaugural, the Capitol 5/8 round point, CBL Barba and American Blend, and the applicator, the Rubberset 400-4 DSBBS

At the Ranch:

I was going to mention it is cold here (57 degrees) for a high, but after reading @MarkB 's journal, I decided to revel in the fact that it is sunny and cool, and not the Ice Box Seaboard is feeling. Sams Club run today, and some Indian Food, as Barber Errand Day has been moved due to the Holiday to Tuesday.

Hope everyone is enjoying the Day
