Retro Shave today, and a very nice BBS shave. The Vintage stuff always is good. Too bad most of it has become Unobtanium.
At the Ranch:
Detailed the car this morning and used a Xmas present in the Ryobi Cordless Hand held leaf blower to dry off the car. Worked great with about 220 CFM, and 140 Mph at the nozzle.
made quick work and blew out all the nooks and crannies as well, in the door seams and Wheels as well. A light mirco fiber towel finish. Saved a TON of time and was able to go over the car twice on the 4Ah lithium battery. This was part of a trio of gifts from the Boss that all work on the same batteries, a Small Hand chainsaw for the trees, and a handheld vacuum as well.. Time to cut up some fire wood, LOL

Should be fun

HAPPY NEW YEAR CADRE!!
An Afternoon shave, as was putting away all the decorations both inside and out for another year.
For the 1st shave of the year, it is back to basisc, and an old School Vintage Shave. Start out the year with humble expectations, and everything after is a winner, even in our daily shaves. Today was a vintage puck of Colgate, and a Semogue 620 Boar... My 1st boar brush , so many years ago. It is soft as any badger now, and equal to any of my synthetics in face feel and lather building ability. It sits quietly on the shelf, often overlooked, as the Bougie Badgers, and synths, seem to get the lime light.
Next the Gillette President. A cased unassuming TTO, that again sits in its case patiently awaiting the call up, as the other more Modern Razors and Str8's get picked. Finally Skin Bracer....
The drug store cowboys, sitting next to its Kin Aqua Velva on the Vintage shelf... Skin Bracer is all about a smack of menthol and a heavy talc dry-down , leaving one with a Fresh clean feeling, after of course you get smacked by the Bracer part, LOL. Today it was all about the above simplicity, not minimalism in any way, just basic. No alum, no talc, no fragrance, no witch hazel. Just a basic shave BBS, not DSBBS, and that is OK as I have the next 364 days for Stellar DSBBS Shave

Asian themed shave today. I had not used the Stark Kami in a while so time to bring it out. A few laps on the strops and still a wicked edge. Asymmetry today, and shaving with only my left hand.. Challenges , challenges LOL With the blade being a traditional Kami, and being a cross-handed shaver this one was a challenge. Made it through with a DFS, BBS- shave, as I did not want to push the envelope. The soap and AS are wonderful with it being pear forward with some florals, mostly jasmine I think. Finished off the a very nice Bespoke fragrance that was gifted to me by Tom a few yrs ago. If I recall he had this made at a perfumery in NYC. It pairs perfectly with the Soap and aftershave. A very nice, almost creamy Oriental with hints of Citrus, Vanilla, and other very nice notes

Such a perfect open comb razor, and being the fact it was a Gift from Jon ( aka the Monkey ) made this a special shave. Using the Floris, just made it over the top. 3 great passes for an afternoon shave, and DSBBS. Floris 89 with it light opening and nutmeg drydown make this perfect for a transition day in the weather

All is pretty normal, as we get ready for temps to drop into the hight 20's-30s over the next few days for lows and 50's for highs with the chance of a dusting of snow, at leas some rain. We need that badly as we have not have any measurable rain since Nov 3rd.

Well, our snow apocalypse turned out to be a complete dud fact temperatures never got below 45 no rain but 50 mile an hour winds be so nice to be a weather person and be wrong 60% of the time
Anyway, it was cool and crisp this morning so the Seaforth black watch is a perfect shave for that
Citrus and warmth all at the same time

A fantastic shave this morning I know some people have troubles with MWF, but I find it is an absolute wonderful soap as slick as Williams and just beautiful to use. The rubber set again is a fantastic brush and the black land blackbird the titanium in my opinion is probably the most efficient and aggressive safety bar style DE razor on the market.
The omega aftershave serum again in my opinion, is probably the best post application face feel with the silk proteins that are contained a very light scent. Hard to find but well worth it.
Finally, the G. O. A. T. A fragrance is in my opinion. YSL’s. Rive gauce pour homme in the original Barbasol style can
