2019 Shave # 39

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Sputnik (12)

Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft Silvertip

Soap: CFG Ghost Town Barber
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber
EdT: CFG Ghost Town Barber

This was my reverse shave or non-dominant hand shave. Pretty sore today from a fall off a ladder and have a 12 hour day of work. I cover it on video which is in the VLOG section as well as the thread for the off hand shave. CFG Ghost Town Barber shave in support of the 3017'rs

Oh man, how I miss Good chili. Found out about 2 years ago I was allergic to Cumin and have not been able to have any chili, Mexican or Indian food since.
\nYou know its possible to make those without adding cumin, right?\n\n
\nI was wondering what that Bonaparte smelled like. There was a disclaimer on it when I looked at it so I just went right past it haha!
\nIt was citrus and floral.... but a complete citrus punch to the nose, very strong. I found grapefruit to be the dominant note. I rather enjoy it.

Yikes! I’m guessing it wasn’t the squatty potty you fell from...what happened?

Med up, get off your feet, and play some games ASAP, Dr Gear’s orders.

Some good shaves in there Dave...interesting to see how much longevity you're going to be able to get out of that Sputnik!

Sorry to hear that you took a fall and the long work day. GTB FTW!

That doesn’t sound bad at all...the disclaimer made it sound like it was going to be something really funky.
yeah, after smelling it, I really did not understand the disclaimer at all. I’m apt to think it was a marketing strategy.... but I do believe he was was being true.

IRT Bonaparte, I can see where people might think that it's not so flattering. The tartness of the grapefruit on top combined with the floral immediately coming up behind it can give an acrid, almost animalic smell ala The Veg. I happen to not mind it at all, though and appreciate what Rod was able to do with it. By adding the sharp, bitter citrus top, it's what the Veg tries (unsuccessfully) to be, IMHO.

Thanks for reading Josh. I get orange citrus but now that you mention it ans I think Spider did I got the grapefruit too which cut the orange down. I knew something was different about the orange but didn't realize that's what did it. Bad sniffer on my part to distinguish without direction.

Thanks Tim, you should give it a spin. It does no good languishing unused in your den.

2019 Shave # 40

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Sputnik (13)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Lime Lotus

Soap: Clown Puke (Samples Compilation)
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Brut

Shave 13 on the Sputnik. No longer as sharp as I prefer but feel it could be pushed the distance to complete the 1 blade Feb challenge..............if I can stay on course. The Clown Puke tub had nothing standing out scent wise to me but was pleasant and really a quality lather with little to no effort. I gotta start another so I have a backup. Topped it off with Brut and I'll smell good to myself while doing paperwork and starting my taxes at the house. Quick video uploading of the shave. Have a great day Cadre !!

Great catch up read. Are you going to try and strop the Sputnik to push the life at all?

Ah taxes. It’s that time for us too, though with all the things we do throughout the year, we have someone more knowledgeable prepare ours. Is it usually a happy time for you?

When switching it to from the Timeless back to the 6s I gave it a quick (4-5 to a side) palm strop. Don't know if that did anything. Stropping isn't out of the question. I do want to run it the distance to show I can and put this thing to rest then. I don't see any benefit to pushing them when not sharp. Can I shave with it? yes. Is it as good as if I binned it and put a fresh one in? no. So beyond being able to say you "did it" I don't see the benefit myself.
