2019 Shave # 15

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (4)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: The Club The Novelist

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber

Last 3 shaves have been outstanding using the Club/A&E samples and happy to have them in the Clown Puke tub which is really growing now. Getting luxuriant lathers with great protection and awesome post shave feel even in the dry weather. The face has felt so good after the shaves I haven't even used the Gold Bond since that 1st time. The citrus I was getting from yesterdays shave must have been the bergamot after a little digging. Today was a pleasant scent I couldn't place as it was light to me but not too light. I could get wiffs of it but it wasn't strong enough to place it. Looked it up and here is how they describe it:

if you're looking for a wood and spice scent, this is the aftershave splash for you. The Novelist has a sophisticated, spicy oriental scent that was inspired by Histoires de Parfum 1899. The scent consists of Bergamot, Juniper, Black Pepper, Orange Blossom, Vanilla, Iris, Vetiver, Tobacco and Amber. Many people have said HdP 1899 is a more refined version of Viktor & Rolf Spice Bomb with added vanilla and other aromatic spices. This will be a classic for sure.

I shouldn't have looked it up as I see Signature is available again.........................So the GTB Splash is getting low looking in the bottle and I decided to load heavy with it today. It got me to thinking that I love the scent but the soap quality is definitely lacking which leads me to wonder if I shouldn't have got the extra backup of soap as much as just focus on the splash as I love the scent AND performance of it. Anyway, just a random thought. DG Icarus Dirtyver is on deck for tomorrow as we work out way thru the stacks of samples on the shelf. Nice to see the dent I'm making in it. Chilling with coffee and news in the background while perusing the net waiting for daylight and a little bump in temps before work. Have a swell day Cadre !!

Excellent stuff Dave! After the New Year settles down a bit...I need to get some more A&E scents...they are just awesome scents and I love the soap! Looking forward to your thoughts on Dirtyver!

There are a few A&E scents I want to add to the den eventually. A&E really seems to be a top notch performer.
Glad you’ve got the dry skin issues licked for now! Stay warm out there at o’dark thirty!
Thanks Don, Steve and Chris

\nGoing to be a loooooooooong 6 months if you keep window shopping.
14 days Down. Only 167 days to go. \n\nIt only get\'s easier from here Dave.
\nTo be honest I don\'t know if I\'ll make it the whole 6 months, but I\'m going to give it my best. It\'s not that I can\'t go that long, it\'s just that I may forget and buy something without thinking because I was on autopilot buying for so long. The more I look at the selection I have in the den (including many things I haven\'t even tried yet ) I realize there is nothing I need. I do wish I hadn\'t removed my razor exception as I really want to get a Vector but it can wait. This time is giving me opportunity to really key in on what I like and want to use regularly and what could be let go of thru trades or pif\'s.

Just when you start to have faith in a brother, he goes and doubts himself...
