I clicked on it thinking it was a spoofIf you like The Matrix, check out The 13th Floor. Came out right around the time of The Matrix and got overlooked by most. Great movie!

Wish there was somewhere to stream it for free

is this the one with the giant things that look like hippy crystals; and every time they fall, they reproduce?

First time I ever saw it, was on Svengoolie (back when he was on WFLD 32 before it was acquired by Fox). I found it to be an interesting concept. (But my wheelhouse in the horror genre is Slashers, or Classic Universal Monsters)That’s the one!
I remember watching it as a kid in the 70's. One of our local channels at the time (all we had were four, ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS) came out with "Friday Night Frights". As a horror / monster movie fan, I was ecstatic! This was the first movie that aired. I really didn't get it at the time but as I grew older and got into the Lovecraftian / Cosmic Horror genre, I appreciated it more.First time I ever saw it, was on Svengoolie (back when he was on WFLD 32 before it was acquired by Fox). Yeah, our Svengoolie was originally broadcast as "Son of Svengoolie". A local TV personality Rich Koz; was a fan of the original Svengoolie (Jerry Bishop); and Bishop gave Koz permission to continue the role/character. So as to pay tribute to Bishop, and differentiate himself, Koz named himself "Son of...". We had the big three (CBS,NBC, ABC), plus WGN, and WFLD (channel 32) in the Chicagoland area when I was growing up. Svengoolie was a Saturday night event in our house. We'd crank the ol' Zenith Television knob to 32. It was such a big show in the early 80's; they broadcast Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D. You had to purchase special glasses at 7-11 to view the movie. And I remember the mania surrounding the lead to the broadcast, where a lady drove her car INTO a 7-11 down the road from me, just to get some 3D glasses. It was crazy. Sadly; the 3D effect didn't work, and I was greatly disappointed. But I've watch Sven ever since. He's since moved over to WCIU 23, which is a ME TV affiliate. YES! Keep 'em coming!
This only counts if during the movie he says “Let the battle begin!”
