Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple today from English singer / songwriter, Elvis Costello. Hope you enjoy.

Wonderful shave this morning! Returned to the vintage Renleigh shave soap for today's whicker whacking duty. Wonderful lather built with the Sorrentino Brushworks synth for three passes with the '69 Gillette Super 109 and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, vintage Avon Bay Rum aftershave splash and Murray & Lanman Peruvian Florida Water.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Life it good!

Hope you have a great day. :)

I saw Elvis Costello open for The Police on their reunion tour........Elvis changed the composition of all of his songs to the point that they were unrecognizable. Thank goodness I didn't pay to see Elvis butcher his own songs. Now The Police.....that was a great show.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Revisiting British New Wave pioneers, Japan today featuring one of my all-time favorite bassists, Mick Karn. Hope you enjoy.

Fantastic shave with which to end the workweek. Returned to Phoenix Shaving and their Creed "Green Valley" homage, "Doppelgänger Continuum No.2". Great scent and excellent lather built with the MisticBrush synth for three passes with the '69 Gillette Super 109 and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, Yardley Gold talc and Creed "Erolfa" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Feels like a July or August morning today with the high humidity! More storms moving in later.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Hair Metal Monday" and I'm going with a couple from L.A. rockers, Dokken. Hope you enjoy.

Phenomenal shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and their wonderful "Nuage de Citron" soap and splash. Bright and tart lemon scent with excellent lather built with the Aylsworth synth for three passes with the '57 Gillette Red Tip and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, the matching splash and Acqua di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Decided to "hobo it" all weekend. Gig with the country band Saturday evening and had to meet the singer early that morning and load up the gear into the trailer. Uber hot and muggy even at that early hour (mid 80's) and it only got worse as the day progressed. The show was a private event for a 50th birthday party WAY the hell out in the middle of nowhere. You may have heard jokes where someone has to "turn onto the dirt road", well that was literally the case with the show. Quite an adventure getting there along a very bumpy, rut-filled road with crude, hand-written signs pointing to the location. We even passed a group of meth heads tweaking out in front of a house! We (me, the singer/guitarist and our fiddle/keyboardist all rode together) actually became quite concerned after that! Eventually we reached the location and it was actually very nice. It was a newly built but "rustic" looking, exposed-beam "barn" that the owner had built. Kind of an event space for family reunions, weddings, parties, etc. Unfortunately, there was no ventilation in it (it was still under construction) and it was hot as hell inside (close to 90°)! We all were pouring sweat while unloading and setting everything up. Thankfully, they brought in a drum fan which provided at least some air movement. But, as more people showed up, even the large fan didn't help much. We were all thankful when it was over! But we still had to tear everything down and load it back into the trailer. Got home a little after 2am Sunday, still drenched in sweat and hopped into the shower. Didn't actually fall asleep until close to 4. Felt wiped out all day yesterday. At the next band rehearsal I'm gonna suggest that "Functional Air Conditioning" should be added to the band's rider

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple today from English ska/pop band, Madness. Hope you enjoy.

Another phenomenal shave this morning, returning to my vintage Renleigh shave soap. No scent but superb lather built with the Sorrentino synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel and Muelhens 4711 splash and cologne.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Follow up with my doc this morning, hence the low-scent shave. Everything's looking good. Have dropped 22 pounds since my last visit! Another muggy day on tap with the chance for bad storms (tornadoes, hail, high wind) moving in later.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm returning to the band The Yagas, fronted by award-winning American actress, Vera Farmiga. Hope you enjoy.

Another phenomenal shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Shave MD" soap and splash. Fantastic citrus soda scent with wonderful lather built with the Paladin Somerset badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, the matching skin food splash and Dior "Eau Sauvage" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Up late keeping an eye on the storms. Tired today. A great shave and coffee are helping.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Couple of things:

First: That red area on the first map in Tennesse near the I40 sign......that's where my daughter lives. So last night was a bit stressful.

Second: I've been to Hunstville. Loved the Rocket Center and went to a Trash Pandas game. I'll probably be visiting again. Also great beer.

Third: Stay safe. We can't lose our Musical Mark....or the thousands of pieces of shaving gear you have stashed away. Is there a weather-resistant shaving vault for all of that stuff? And have you passed a spare key on to someone responsible and/or me?
