Today's rainy weather has put me in a Pink Floyd mood so here's their 1975 album Wish You Were Here. Hope you enjoy.


Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 77

Wonderful shave to begin the day. Great lather from the Williams / Peregrino combo. Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Gillette aftershave gel and Geo. F. Trumper "Wild Fern" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Gonna be a rainy week according to the weather man. Really liked the Gillette aftershave gel. I think I had used this before a long time ago. Nice scent. It (like the AV Ice Sport yesterday) has a similar scent to GIT. Not greasy and absorbed quickly. Great face-feel after. Good stuff!

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 78

Phenomenal BBS shave this morning. Uber thick and slick lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush. Three passes with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, vintage Avon "Excalibur" aftershave lotion & tack. Lastly, a spray of Creed "Bois du Portugal" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Warm, muggy morning. Storms moving in this afternoon. :oops:

Thanks everyone for your kind words. We’re home now. Have been for a couple of hours. She’s feeling better but resting. These events always wipe her out for the rest of the day when they occur. But she felt good enough to ask me to cook her beef stroganoff tonight. LOL! It’s her favorite. 😁

Skipped yesterday so today's shave was extra nice. Phenomenally thick and slick lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Amber Aerolite" synth for three passes with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, Guy Laroche "Drakkar Noir" aftershave lotion & EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Crystal's doing much better today. The beef stroganoff came out great despite having to make the "quick" version with ground beef.

Fantastic BBS shave this morning with the Williams / Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. Three passes with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, & Brut aftershave lotion and EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Marinating some chicken thighs tonight to make some Fricassee de Pollo and white rice tomorrow.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 81

Another phenomenal BBS shave this morning with the Williams. However, I did get a little too aggressive on my right jaw line. Nothing too bad however. Two passes (plus touch-up) with the Gillette Tech and I finished with alum and Gillette aftershave gel.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: The fricassee was delicious. Also made some white rice and some Puerto Rican pintos.

Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, vintage Williams "Aqua Velva" aftershave lotion & talc and Giorgio Armani "Acqua di Gio" EdT.

One of the best shaves of the challenge this morning! Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '61 Gillette Fatboy and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, Pitralon Classic aftershave lotion, a dusting of Mennen talc and Geo. F. Trumper "Wild Fern" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Could have used couple hours more sleep. Coffee and a great shave are helping.

And with today's shave gentlemen, I'm officially calling time-of-death on this puck of Williams. 84 of some of the best shaves I've ever had. Great (though difficult to build) lather for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel and Czech & Speake "Cuba" aftershave lotion and EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: I've really enjoyed doing the Williams challenge but it'll be nice to get some variety back in my daily shaves.

Phenomenal BBS shave this morning! Fantastically thick and slick lather from the vintage Crabtree & Evelyn soap built with the Aylsworth "Altare" G5 synth. Three passes with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, vintage Crabtree & Evelyn For Men aftershave lotion and Crabtree & Evelyn "Sienna" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Oh man! Was nice to get into something new for today's shave. Warm, muggy day. Storms moving in later.
