Bingo Game #59: Wedding Bingo

Ok Fine Lets talk about Food!!

Somethings that have already been decided are for meat we will have whole hog roast- Now we need to decide on the rest of the meal- Cocktail hour/ Appetizers? What time do we open up the open bar? Do we serve salad if we have apps and cocktail hour? What about a midnight snack?

We were married on the coast of New Hampshire, had to have a raw seafood bar or the guests would’ve walked out on us.

What about your dessert? We had cake I guess (didn’t do the whole cut and feed thing, we both found it a strange thing that wasn’t a tradition for either side of the family, and neither of us saw a slice that night) but we did serve Fresco (a Haitian shave ice served with syrups that were homemade by my wife’s grandmother). That’ll always be way more memorable to me.

taco trucks sound like fun. I’m a fan of diverse food options when feasible.

Also will you offer a signature drink?

but with nacho cheese? I think this should be a tradition
Yeah....the thought of people randomly putting their fingers in this is what makes it so gross. At one of those Golden Corral places I watched as some lady dipped a marshmallow on a stick into the chocolate fountain, take a bite and dip the half eaten marshmallow back in. I was out. You'll never seen me eating anything from a fountain that the general public has access to.

For our dessert, I think I want to do pie- I absolutely love pie. Cake or pie- pie always wins.

But might have carrot cake or cheesecake- KJ gets a 33% vote on all matters.

here is a fun desert. Get a pre-made Oreo or Graham crust, peanut butter, and your favorite ice cream. put a small layer of Peanut butter in pie shell, Soften the ice cream a bit, pour into the pie shell even out and top with Whipped Cream, Freeze.. enjoy

A wedding classic!

I'm sure this will definitely happen. We almost did that at our last Halloween party.
Nice! Do you have a favorite drink? Maybe we could help you craft something?

We did a ‘Ti Punch (drink with rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and our own twist which was to add a dash of bitters) which was a big hit.

I also got into the invitation thing. I liked the graphic design elements, learning about different types of paper, inks, fonts etc. I didn’t realize I would like that part wedding planning going into it, but found it really fun to work with a print shop during the whole process.

For Halloween, we intended to do a Barbie themed shot and an Oppenheimer themed shot, but never got around to it.

I figured our signature cocktails would be Vampire punch and skrewball
Well now I need to learn more.

How does one make these? Not planning on stealing the thunder, but perhaps we can toast from across the country if we learn how to make them too.
