Patina on the Refyne pens developing rather nicely I think. That week taraveling i the Hawaiian environment really gave them some character!
Brand new:
Today, a couple weeks after first photo (removed pocket clips to help patina form more evenly). Copper on top then brass:
Picture don’t really capture the deep richness of the tones/patina unfortunately.

Fortunately, we’re just enough OK financially for her to fly. Otherwise I can’t imagine.
I used to make that trip once a year with my parent when I was younger, to visit grandparents. Talk about grueling! And my Dad always did the whole trip in one day!
How’s solo dad mode going?

Gear: Blackland Vector, Feather Pro blade, SV/TSC Il Re Tasso d’Oro brush, SV 70th soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!
Nice sleep in this morning. Clocked in about 10 hours! Was going to try to stay up until the missus reported in upon reaching her destination but my eyelids shut like iron caskets about an hour too early. She made it safely though.
Whipped the crew into shape today once things were getting rolling. Chores in progress, they’ve found some food, and we might have time to actually go out and do something for a bit! Not sure what yet.
Any suggestions on a good recorded PA reminder system for children? The repetition of one’s self is real right now

Dad’s are supposed to be the ones that let them stay up watching cartoons and then give them pizza and sugar until the mom returns - you’re doing it all wrong

Another decent sleep-in and a superb shave to kick of this fine Sunday morning!
Ended up not going out anywhere after all yesterday. Worked out fine, since I needed to finish some laundry and iron. Still would have liked to get out of the house…the boys tend to really act up if they don’t stretch their legs for a bit. Oh well, perhaps after church today.
Missus is doing great, having spent the day at a bridal shower yesterday. Today she’ll be headed off to her school orientation.
One bit of fun news is that I got tapped to play test a new table top game coming out on Kickstarter soon. It’s called Territory. It’s primarily a strategic card game. I get some free goodies out of it, so that’s cool!
