Such a wonderful, varied album. The song that introduced me to The Cure was "Burn" from The Crow movie soundtrack, but this is the album that made me love them. Solid overall with 4 standout songs. Give it a listen for something dark, romantic, and Gothic... with some kickass instrumental work.

Check out the band I featured in my journal post this morning. They're a great Turkish Post-Punk / Darkwave / Goth duo.

Following the dark-gothic theme, this is a great album. Bats for Lashes is a music project by the singer Natasha Khan. This album I believe was inspired by The Lost Boys and a lot of 80s culture in general. The Hunger is terrific in representing this theme. Some songs can be dark and ethereal, some a bit lighter, romantic, and more pop-ish, but her vocals are incredible all throughout. Ignoring her strange visuals, this is a solid concept-standalone album.
