What's blasting in your headphones?

@JanJosh ever listen to The Legendary Pink Dots?

Listening to them they're right up my alley. It's a fascinating and tasty blend of what sounds like punk, goth rock, synth, and elements of blues, but it takes this and makes something different entirely.

They sound like something I could envision playing in a sci-fi dystopia, like a patch of rebels and punks in the world of 1984 or Equilibrium. There's something genuine, raw, and rebellious to their music, and i can only compare them to bands like Depeche Mode and The Cure but only at a surface level. Great listen!

If you like energetic music i can recommend a smaller band called "Nuclear Daisies" which is a mix of punk, noise rock, acid rock, and some grunge.

If you haven't figured out, I am an aging punk (as well as a cowboy, lol). Rancid was one of the best pits I have ever been in, and their new music is just as good as their classics, if not better:

My wakeup and gym album today. A solid variety album for house music. Sucks that they pulled the official dark matter version of Cola from YouTube but it's still there on spotify! Maybe there was drama or a copyright issue? Here's a reupload, and it's what I'm currently listening to, just ignore the cheesy ai face.

Lol I'm surprised you'd be into that sort of music. If you like trap boy do i know an artist.

Not laughing at you BTW, laughing from surprise and it reminded me of a really good traditional Japanese remix of a boss theme from a game

No but seriously. I love when an innocent game has a suddenly badass song from nowhere. From Earthbound, Pokey Means Business starts goofy before suddenly flipping to thrash metal, then in Plok! The boss theme starts silly before flipping into a hard synth neon rush. It sounds like Dracula thought it'd be funny sending you to the past... but unfortunately, you came with a shotgun.

Check them out here.

@MarkB on the topic of trap I had to put this album on again after a while of not listening to it.

RL Grime's first album is a mix of genres but with heavy trap influence. His first EP though, released after quietly producing for other artists, was almost completely trap.

Sweet! I'll check those out!

Well, time to Breeze through the evening and settle on something different. Meet The Blue Stones, a young indie rock duo from Canada. They make an interesting and easy to listen blend of modern alt blues rock/dirty rock. I have a Playlist of all my favorite songs, which are all of them just about, but I'll leave their most acclaimed album, aka their first studio album Black Holes. You might or might not like them depending on your rock tastes, but I've resonated and leaned on their stuff since high school.

Pretty Monster, the second album, had a major effect on me post 2020, but you can seek that yourself if you like their stuff here.

Actually, rewind. The album is actually really good. This stuff is a dope blend of grunge, alt, and industrial. Pretty impressed by this random bumping into. There's even some metal sprinkled in. Two thumbs up for Sick Joy!

I promise I'll only post twice today!

Wake up and Workout Album

Chaotic, energetic, and soaked in adrenaline. Made by RL Grime with notable features. A mix of different styles but it's just meant to have a momentum. Modern and loud electronic.

Closing shift calls for something chill

So Below is a indie great female artist, coming from New Zealand. She has a great, strong voice that borders on semi-androgynous. Her genre is called "night pop" which is a blend of ambient and electronic tones through a dark, melancholic lens. Some of her songs are pretty strong and can be emotional through the theme or her vocals and you might find some hints of other artists like Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, and Radiohead.

To avoid blowing up the feed, as per Dave's wishes, check out the song "Wishful Thinking" from the linked album. This is a pretty heavy song about missing their/your partner/former partner.
