Indeed! We just watched the 1999 documentary about making the album. It's awesome! You might have heard of Chuck Rainey?? Haha. The guy's a monster bass player...

I've watched this documentary many times. Fascinates me to hear about what all goes into making an album of this caliber, both personal and procedural.

While shaving this morning I listened to a Vivaldi concerto played by Rachel Barton Pine on viola d'amore. They said she also has played folk, Celtic, rock, jazz, and heavy metal, and she was quoted as saying something like, "One can't live on just steak alone, no matter how great the steak is." I agree with her wholeheartedly about music, and the statement also reflects why I am not a shaving minimalist. Just as I don't eat only to survive, I don't shave just to get rid of facial hair. No matter how wonderful a particular brush or razor or soap, I would not want to use it every single day. For me variety is not just the spice of life, it is the essence.
