Lorenzo Villoresi Musk
This just says 70’s to me, I think because it smells like my best friend’s parent’s house did back then. Powdery rose and a dark sandalwood is what I get from the notes. It’s pretty heavy with musk, but I don’t read it such personally though I think most people do, I get a sort of 70’s aromatic air freshener kind of thing instead. In any case I like it.
PM Naomi Goodsir Nuit de Bakelite
I’ve had this sample for over a year now, and finally getting around to trying it. I can see this being not for everyone, but so far I’m loving it. First I love the smell of actual Bakelite, and though this isn’t exactly that, I can get the name. I get a very dusty tomato leaf, with almost candied tuberose way behind it, the two together give that Bakelite effect, but you can definitely smell both as individual things at the same time, which is a very cool effect. This is the kind of thing that got me excited about niche perfume, and very glad I’m trying it today, feeling a bit more jaded about the industry. For me this if buy worthy, it’s very different but also very wearable, letting the composition do the talking rather than the sheer violence of projection.
