Pierre Guillaume - Cuir d'Iris
Wow, I can't believe this is the first time I've worn this since last winter. Fantastic leather iris scent. Elegant class all the way.
Pierre Guillaume - Animal Mondain
A pretty nifty take on tobacco, a bit dark and sweet in it's core, but there's a twist with the use of pear tree leaves, that gives an effervescent green overtone, both taming the sweetness and bringing some light to the shadows. Another great PG scent.
Twofer Tuesday
I pretty often will wear a daytime and late night fragrance. For some reason the second one helps me relax for bed.
Ormaie - Toi Toi Toi
I still can't believe that lavender isn't a note here, I get a soft but dark, woody lavender. Great stuff, very organic feeling, the opposite of a modern chemical thing (not that I have problems with aroma chemicals). Toi Toi Toi is sort of the ballet version of 'Break a leg' and I actually like to wear it to ballet since it's very soft, clean, and nonintrusive, without being boring.
Aramis - the classic original
I haven't used this in a while, but I saw one of the guys I follow talking about the house history today and it made me want to give it a try again. It was my Grandfather's 'special event' scent, which I have fond memories of. I just have the bog standard reissue stuff. I think it's been a year since I wore it last, and I'm not sure if it's the time sitting (some folks say it's macerating, IDK) or the Toi Toi Toi that's underneath, but this smells way better than when I first got it, really taking me back to what I remember it being. Going to need to use this more often. A cheap as chips banger!
