What’s new to you?

Should have tagged you for "?" above @Spider
I would have gotten around to it. I just got back from my trip.

It takes a wedge blade, so I’m really not sure. The way the blade is secured, I’m not sure it would hold a GEM securely. Not terrible anxious to try it out, just bought it as a collector piece. May eventually though.

I know some do take a Gem but nice piece regardless. Welcome home !

Glad you liked the surprise @Dave in KY When I decided to send you an extra straight. So you had another in the rotation. I went through all of mine. And that one jumped out at me.
Not really sure why. Now it seems that there may have been some forces at work. Which we may not fully comprehend. Cue spooky music.
Once the decision was made had to test shave it, before sending it down. So if you were a Sherlock Holmes type mind. That might have been a clue.
I did some light polishing on the our own. But yes like you feared the depth of pitting required more metal to be removed than safe for the blade etching. It's edge is sound.
Thank you for trusting me with them. Now going to watch the bloodletting....I mean your shave video :p
