TV Shows

I am always a fan of the endings that we had growing up - maybe unrealistic - but I always appreciated a good redemption story or happy ending and it seems it is rarely done anymore or if it is, it’s clunky and unbelievable.

The exception to my opinion is the movie (probably before your time) - To Live and Die in LA where the main character dies (who was a cop that didn’t play by the rules) - and his partner (who was always trying to go the straight and narrow) - basically takes his partner’s path and then makes the informant work for him - so the anti-redemption - but in this case it worked 😂
I guess the redemption here is that the family came back together. Though I can’t help feel the same as you. It was an odd show, but I couldn’t look away.

I miss the original Miami Vice - especially the Nugart Lamont and Manny. Where have all the good tv shows gone? Plus Sonny Crocket made pastels cool. And Tubbs looked Ricko Suave before it was cool

plus the soundtrack for Miami Vice……

Dire Straights Brothers in Arms
Phil Collins In the Air Tonight
Glenn Fry Smuggler’s Blues

Wife and I recently finished re-watching all the seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (her favorite of the L&O franchises) and we just started re-watching NYPD Blue. Gotta love those gritty cop dramas.

I have to concur with you and your wife! Good call! You should add Hill Street Blues to that list (I’m a little older than you - so you may not remember that - @BarberDave is much, much older than both of us - so he will remember it well).

And a shout out to @NurseDave - while probably young like you with his debonair looks and his fan club - but in my time we also had medical dramas (even before ER) that rocked - St Elsewhere

On the humorous side - the TV Show Community did a spoof on L&O that was really funny (and that doesn’t take away from the gritty NY shows - they still rock, but sometimes it is good to laugh)

I'm 53. And willing to bet I'm older than you are.
I had to change my answer above before you answered because of the afore mentioned older child - but you look marvelous! Just a couple of years older than me- but you carry it well!

Trapper John Was good also....

I will laugh at these comments.....not to the detriment of my esteemed friend, @BarberDave ...but because almost no one I know thinks of me as "lit'. In fact, somewhere my daughter is rolling her eyes so far out of her head, they may have left the county she lives in.
There is no need to justify your laughter, giggle away my brother! - @BarberDave was there when shaving was invented so he would appreciate us including him in our dialog….let’s not forget - that while I am jealous that he has retired from not one but two professions and is now on his third……
