Watch Wars: Part 2, The Tom Cruise stunt version

Looks like we had a late entry yesterday. Sorry Mark....next time be more prompt if you want your watch misjudged.

So lets take a look at Mark's entry.....he of the excellent smelling Mark variety....

Very nice. Sleek....clean.....refined.....oh wait, I'm describing Mark. The watch looks great. Classic design. A proven time piece of exceptional quality. And nothing to detract from its presentation. I'd call this a solid entry.

Definitely would have been second yesterday. Today....we'll see how it places.

Next up Dave of the Rootin'est Tootin'est Wild Westin'est version.....

Oh very cool. Blue and very nautical. I feel a wave headed my way. I'm a fan of that watch band. I only hope its not pinchy.

But can we get some aloe on that hand? Its looking a bit dry and flaky there, mi amigo. Can't get judged on the watch if the arm presenting it looks like its been through a firestorm.

The watch more than makes up for your mishap......I'd say this is a very fine example of a water-loving watch.

Well....looks like those are our two competitors for the day...

The judges have taken bribes time to ponder the merits of each entry.......and the winner today is:

Dave of the Blue version.

Mark's watch is great but the nifty band on Dave's sealed the deal today.

Show up tomorrow and I'll be finicky and unpredictable as ever.

Watch Wars Part II.........Revenge of the Chronograph.

Only had 2 contestants yesterday. I'm really not a mean judge.....just a goofy one with zero qualifications and time on my hands.

Lets see who shows up today.

Here's Dave of the Pander to the judge's interest variety:

Yes.....that's definitely something he knows I like very much. And I've seen one of these watches at both the Marshall Space Flight center and at the Kennedy Space center. And I'm sure I'll see one next weekend at the Johnson Space center (yes....I'm a NASA geek).
So Dave is barking up the right tree at the moment.

Once again...Omega is a great looking watch. Very cool design for the face and its one of the brands that can be counted on. I mean.....the astronauts wore them on the moon.....that has to tell you its reliable and durable. Strong entry.

Up next is Mark....the man with so many soaps and brushes.....he lives in a 7600 sq ft Storage container out behind his regular home.

Mark is bringing the '60s back. Today is shaping up to be a battle of the retro-cool.

Definitely like the look of this watch. Simple face with a pop of color on the second hand. And then there's that unique case. Very mod. Very retro. Very cool.

Oh look.....Free Meal Bougie turned up...

1778252322871.png

Claims he's on a work trip but we all know he's lounging about....eating cobb salads and surfing the dark web for watches and cigars. But he's graced us with his presence....so lets have a look at his watch.

Another Omega. Still very classic and it does have the retro vibes.....or maybe that just Bougie vibes spilling over (someone get a mop....there's Bougie vibes all over the floors).

I'm noticing that he made sure to include his fine tailored shirt cuff. Again...this contestant knows the judge's preference for finely made bespoke shirts. Hmmmm.....will that factor into the judge's decision? We shall see.

Not digging the fake plant. Boo on that. If only Bougie was somewhere with natural flora and fauna with which to stage his photos.

Another contestant has shown up (shows ya what Bougie knows)

Its Eric of the maddeningly smart variety...

Ok...this is a sharp, classic retro looking watch. Nice clean face. Nice sleek leather band. Small dashes of color to entice the eye....splash of red....dot of orange. And......its made in Germany (the Germans make great products).

Nice addition of the shirt cuff......this guy picks up on how to win over the judges on the first go around. WOW!!!

Well...that's all the entries for today. The judge's have conferred and debated and then flipped a coin...today's winner is......

Eric!!!

Really liked the look of his watch....very distinctive.....much like Eric. But really....any one of these could have won today.

Come back again on Monday and we'll do it all again. Or we won't.....depending on if Dave tells me to stop during the Zoom call.
