Trials of a woodpusher: Adventures in chess, backyard gardening, and maybe whisker chopping

Not overly much happening up here in woodpusher land. Between correspondence chess, regular in-person chess, bridge, reading, finances, and attending a few smaller venue concerts by tribute bands (ABBA and Carole King), things are pretty mundane and I am generally able to squeeze in a shave before noon.

Oh ... and my NY Giants still suck. See? Everything is as it normally is.

My TV is via a the Firestick which can be wonky, so it's never certain what I am able to watch but if the channel is showing, I will watch Big Blue turn into Big Black & Blue as they get pummelled once again.

As for chess, yes, at the US Championship GM Yoo (still only 17) was very upset after losing his game and punched a female photographer from behind as he was walking past her when he was leaving the hall. Not good at all.

I'm working away through my RazoRock American Barber soap and aftershave and, after converting the soap to stick format, I am getting some great lathers. Yup, not meh at all! Getting ready for a road trip in a week or so to Florida to visit my sister-in-law and will be taking a few Schick Xtreme-3 carts along as those have developed into my travel razor of choice.

Daily shaving without issue so far and helping fix things up both in the house and outside building a garden and planting a hedge.
You’re a busy man, Sam. Didn’t you put in a hedge a couple of years ago? Will you be able to, uh, produce enough Samanure™️ for the new garden?

Yeah, I don’t use hedging in investing but I apparently do in real life.

Today’s garden work saw me relocate a 10 foot tree from the backyard to the front. My reward? Thanks and two beers (that I bought!!!)

Methinks I will be super sore tomorrow, but I still have to dig and build a veggie garden bed. Thankfully, I already scoured the train track behind the yard and scavenged six old railway ties for edging.

Not stiff at all today, so this morning’s work was to build the 20’x4’ garden. All done! I wonder what my next project will be?
I think the whole garden needs to be 2 feet to the right....

I shall be partaking in my first American Thanksgiving tomorrow at my sister-in-law. From the sounds of things, there will be much more food than required, both in volume and variety.

Nonetheless, I shall somehow manage to make it through …. I hope.

Sam, gluttony is REQUIRED on Thanksgiving! Save room for pie.
