The Heysi Missive

Alrighty......This is the announcement!!!

I will be a guest on the Drinks & Dave's YouTube show Tuesday night. I'll be talking beer with the fellas and we'll be drinking a few as well. Expect to hear plenty of complaints from one of the Dave's and lots of prodding from me to get him to experience the flavors and forget any bad college beers that he's used to.

Please tune in at 5pm. Bring your silly pants and invite all of your friends.

Alright.....That was a fun evening. If you like beer....if you hate beer.....if you like one or both of the Dave's and want to see one of them suffer through an evening of beer-centricness.....then head over to youtube and dial up the Drinks & Daves show. I was the special guest last night and we learned some stuff about beer and we drank some beer and we laughed about grapefruit. But in all....it was an evening of silliness and then some.

Many thanks to the 2 Dave's for having me on and for being silly with me. It was the longest show they've ever done....but it seemed like it went by in a flash. And that's how you know we were having fun.

Yesterday went a long way toward my upcoming cruise. We're sailing out of Galveston Texas in May for a week in the western Caribbean. But as with most of our trips...we try to throw in a few extra days of visiting the area where the cruise starts. So yesterday I bought tickets to visit Johnson Space Center in Houston (actually...its in Clear Lake, Texas). I will have now visited 4 of the 10 NASA centers....2 in the last year. I also picked up tickets to see the Astros take on the Texas Rangers in Houston. So I'll be crossing another ballpark off my list. I'm going to try to make as many trashcan references as I can throughout the game (cheaters). Should be a very fun trip. Expect to see photos in this here journal. I'm sure BBQ and beer will be featured.

Talk to ya Later.

Well, his trip is in May so I would expect photos in August sometime. Also Steven, stop following me around!

A friend brought me a few shave items they found on a recent trip (and how lucky am I that they thought of me while antique shopping?).

4 brushes and a Burma Shave jar!!! The Rubberset is gorgeous but needs a bit of love and a new knot (can anyone suggest a good restorer?). The black handled brush is very heavy... definitely weighted in the handle and all the bristles are falling out. The other two also need new knots. The Burma Shave jar is in great condition for its age. I'm used to seeing them online with most of the printing on the jar lid rubbed nearly all off.

In all....a great find and a great gift.

Milestone birthdays.

When you're a kid...every birthday is a milestone. When you get older....its the round numbers.

With that being said.....this year will kick off a series of years with milestone birthdays. My mom turns 80 this august. My wife turns 60 next july and I turn 60 in october of 2028. Our cruise this spring is to celebrate my mom's 80th (a bit early) and the planning for that is nearly complete. But now planning for my wife's 60th has begun.

As Disney fans, we've been to all the US Disney parks, both parks in California and all the parks in Florida. But none of the foreign parks. Well......looks like we may be going to Paris Disneyland in the fall of 2027. Early planning is under way and price seems to be better than I imagined. In fact....what originally started out as a 4 day weekend is getting closer to a 2 week journey across France (it will probably be closer to 10 days) with stops in Belgum, the Normandy coast and a few days in Paris.

Let the planning commence!!

Ya, thanks buddy! I told my wife about your trip to Disney Paris. She got to thinking about going there on the way back from our European cruise next year. I said "But it's not on the way!"
