Well done, sir!
Don't encourage his lolly-gagging.

New England/Nova Scotia trip report: part 1

Had such a great trip. Very fun...very relaxing.

Friday...first morning in Boston...

Yep...we stopped at Dunkin'. Turns out there's one every 5 blocks. And I'm not kidding.

Drove out to Hingham to visit my revolutionary relative's house.

The General is my 6th great grandfather.

IMG_20250912_120418438_HDR.jpg

The house was sold to the town historical society in 2020. A lot of the family furniture is still there.

This is the General's desk. Apparently he brewed beer for the town and it kept the family finances in great condition.

The home has been in the family since the 1660's..

Thomas Lincoln was my 8th great grandfather.

On the way back to Boston..we stopped at the John F. Kennedy presidential library. Very beautiful. Lots of personal items...and a bit sad when they get to Dallas.

And finally...we went to Fenway park

My seats were terrible....once again I couldn't find manager...

The Red Sox got beat...but I got to chant "YANKEES SUCK" for 9 straight innings...so that was worth it. Fenway park is a beautiful ballpark and so far it's been my favorite of the ballparks I've visited. Very classic...very cool.

On Saturday we drove out to Salem to visit the witch trial museum. Very sad part of our history. Seems like hundreds of people were accused with very little "evidence" of anything and nearly 2 dozen people were killed for these "crimes". In the end..it was a group of mean girls that made up stories about someone they didn't like and the mania got out of control.

Come back for part 2.....it's on a boat!!

So....by popular demand (well...just bougie being bougie)...here's part 2 of my new England/Canada trip.

Our cruise left Boston and the weather was fantastic all week except for one day in Sydney Nova Scotia...it rained lightly for a long hour.

In Portland Maine I had my first lobster roll. It was delicious. I also had several local beers. Very fine food and beverage day.

This was how smooth the seas were out on the Atlantic. So calm and the view just kept going and going.
(BTW....that's a picture from 6 floors above the water)

The back of the ship even has an outdoor dining area. Great way to enjoy lunch.

While on the ship, I sampled a few Scotch whiskies. That 18 year was very nice. A bit pricey.

Also got to see where the St. John river meets the Bay of Fundy. Twice a day the tide pushes the river backwards and the salt water heads up stream. When we were there the water had just started going back out to the Bay. Very odd to see a huge river with nearly zero movement for a period of time.

Well....that's all the photos I have.

It was a very fun trip. And my first time to Canada. I'll be returning again. It was lovely and the people are so nice.

See ya Later.

FTR, boats, ferries, and ships don’t have “stories”, they have Decks. The “back of the vessel” is the Stern. You’re welcome. 👍

You weren’t allowed to bring a razor?

I just got an mp3 player. I know this sounds strange but I've been without my music for a few years. I used to have an ipod which contained nearly all of my cds....but Apple stopped supporting that platform in a bid to move users to the iphone. So for a few years, I've been without my usual way to listen to my cds. I do have Spotify and that gives me almost all of my music....but like @MarkB I have a wide and varied taste and not everything is available on Spotify. So now I have access to all of my cds. Its going to take me a few weeks to burn them all on to the mp3 player....and add the album artwork....and compile playlists.....and set everything up. But for now....I'm back enjoying music.

That game was crazy.

Dodgers used every pitcher in the bullpen.....including Clayton Kershaw....and the pitcher that won the previous game was warming up when the game ended!!

Ohtani went 4 for 4 with 5 walks (4 of them intentional!) so he sets the postseason record for most times on base with nine.....and he's the starting pitcher for the 4th game only 19 hours after game 3 ended.

Freddie Freeman has now hit 2 walk-off world series game winners.

The game was 6 hours and 39 minutes. And it was glorious.
