So let’s go on a run of open combs and let us start with this little gem....1930s Gillette New SC replated in rhodium by Chris Spencer at BackRoadsGold. This one has the common bar handle and I really enjoy the smooth shaves I get with it. Honestly, your OC journey should start with a New or Old Type and as New go, the LC or SC are both fantastic.

Today’s soap was RazoRock American Barber just to keep to the classic barbershop theme. Monday was the very enjoyable CBL Barbershop and so as you can’t get too much of a good thing...why not.

Loaded up with a Merkur Super Platinum and got through a thoroughly enjoyable 2 pass DFS. Hump day and we are halfway through the week! Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all!

Nice! How do you like the R.R. AB scent? Ever tried Fine AB before?
I actually quite like the RR AB scent it is an even less sweet scent but quite nice. I haven’t tried the Fine version for Fine I have Italian Citrus and Fresh Vetiver in the rotation. The RR is a great value and good performer.

So let’s carry on with the OCs. Today’s ritual fell to just about one the prettiest razor I have in the collection, the 1938-39 Sheraton. This one is also courtesy of Chris Spencer at BackRoadsGold and plated in 24k. Stunning looker and a phenomenal shaver. I would rate this particular razor as middle of the road on the aggression scale and slightly more so than my 34/35 OC Aristocrat. Loaded up with any good DE blade and it is a smooth shaver.

Soap of the day was B&M Seville just to keep with the barbershop theme. Great scent and between the CBL and RazoRock this week this one is the more vibrant scent. Great performer.

Loaded up the same brush I have used all week and went to town. By the way if you are looking for a great brush with some good backbone and scritch this is one you might want to take a look at. Rocky Mountain Barber Company, which they say is Best Badger but I don’t know because it has more scritch (which I enjoy) than any Best Badger I own. I got mine when they first came out Oct 2017 and have been impressed ever since.

Proceeded to get through a very nice two pass DFS which for a Friday was thoroughly enjoyed. Take care, safe travels and happy shaves all! We The North!

Nice looking line-up, Ed. I have the Seville soap+AS but have yet to use them. BTW OCs rule in the world of DEs; I'm thinking about a 1904/15C for my nephew who just turned 13 and who's dad got him a razor from Harry's even though he has a Progress (from me many years ago).

15C is a great choice for the lad and I am sure he’ll enjoy it. I started off with an EJ89 followed shortly after by a Muhle R41 which got me interested in true OCs. Got a couple old types PIFd to me by a friend in Texas and that was the beginning of the whole OC love affair.

So will it be the iKon Deluxe OC or the Gillette New LC with the husky handle in 24k tomorrow? Or a Gillette New SC with the long thin handle in 24k? What say you Cadre? Or just @Dave in KY :ROFLMAO:

Kind of hard to go wrong with any Gillette new! Especially the ones you have! I like the husky handle...but love the way the 24k looks. Tough decisions!
