Close Enough*
A world of difference from Don’s experiences Gus. But can you keep the momentum going???? Lol
I have the feeling I should lure all the cats into the den and close the door. ?
I see you saw the need for first responder soap and splash thoughJanuary 22
Shave #2
Assured $1 Razor & Assured SS blade
Graydog Gray Ghost 26mm
GD Eucalyptus & Spearmint preshave
Stirling R4L soap
Humphreys Alcoholado Maravilla
Stirling R4L a/s splash
Second shave with the Assured razor and blade combo. I would have to say that the shave was just as good if not better than last nights shave. A solid 2.5 pass run that was both efficient and better than average in comfort. Again, no nics, cuts, weepers nor any irritation. The components from the preshave and soap contributed in providing a good base that brought excellent protection and glide to the table. No complaints so far.
I feel like I’m tempting the shaving gods. I can sense they’re not happy with the shave results I’ve gotten from a pesky and ridiculous razor that has practically ZERO quality control. My luck may be running out though soon. I can feel it......
I’m still going to push on. Vaya Con Dios, Gents!!
I see you saw the need for first responder soap and splash though
\n\nThat is actually not a bad idea.\n\nGus looks like you got a good alignment up on the blade. \n\nDon, maybe you should hand strop it before putting it in.
\n\nWait...now there has to be a fourth shave? You realize that a cat has only so many lives...right?\n\nyou can for shave 4
I got mine in the mail today. I’m kind of impressed, a very nice looking razor for a buck. The fit and finish is typical of cheaper Chinese stuff but the functionality seems solid. I think the blade gap, exposure and angle are rather aggressive but not any more than a Qshave set around 4 or 5 (remember, a Qshave on 6 is outlawed by the Genieva convention). The center bar is not sized properly so the blade can wiggle a bit but getting good alignment wasn’t hard. A quick peak under the loupe confirmed the blade bevel is clean and undamaged, no reason to doubt the blade. Maybe a quick stropping on linen would smooth things out.
Wait...now there has to be a fourth shave? You realize that a cat has only so many lives...right?
I believe Doug said we can just do whatever we want after the 3 shaves with the blades it comes with.
Except for Don. Did you miss that part? Don has to use each blade 3 times, just to truly confirm if they are good or not.
He is supposed to be the “dangerous” one, Isn’t he?
Except for Don. Did you miss that part? Don has to use each blade 3 times, just to truly confirm if they are good or not.
Here is how we are going to do this:
As soon as the razor is in hand proceed at will with the shaves.
The first shaves with it should be with the included Assurance blades.
In keeping with Chad's "Bad Blades" series, we will be doing at least 3 shaves on a single blade.
Each shave must be completed with just the Assurance blade.
Post about the shaves in this thread, Pictures or video are appreciated, especially if fluid loss occurs.
After the third shave everyone is on their own for further exploits with the razor and/or the blades.
But Don must use each blade 3 times
