The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Wonderful Pick KJ! And there is that clean shaven mug we have all learned to love!

Was that the first time you actuality head shaved or first time on camera? Or first time you did it yourself?
\nBack in High School I had a similar hairstyle, but I didn\'t wear it in a Mohawk. I did shave the sides of my head a couple times with a razor, but that was back in the Mach 3 days. This is the first time I\'ve shaved my head with a DE, period.

I've been comparing the Brass Colonial General to my Stainless Steel Mongoose over the last few shaves. First two shaves were side, with General shaving half my face and Mongoose the other side. Yesterday was just the General and today, just the Mongoose. Today is the first day in the series I didn't film. No time this morning.

bottom line between the two is the shave is nearly identical. They both feel the same as far as smoothness (of blade feel) and aggression. The cap of the brass General does feel smoother on my face and glides a little better than the satin finish on the Mongoose, but that's about the only difference, and really only noticeable when done side by side. Individually they feel the same.

My only knock on the General is the lack of texture on the handle. Even though the brass is somewhat sticky, I'd prefer some knurling.

Bottom line, having the Mongoose, I don't feel the need to go to the ends of the earth to find a General. But I would still like to have one, and if I did, it would likely replace my Mongoose altogether.

I'm continuing my use of Christmas/Winter Themed soaps up until Christmas day. Here is what I've used so far:

17th - CBL Soap: Christmas Memories
18th - Saint Charles Shave: Jack Frost
19th - Barrister & Mann: First Snow
20th -
21st -
22nd -
23rd -
24th -
25th -

Good to hear that I'm not missing out on the Mongoose since I have a general.

About the shaved sides...I like the short hairs on the side better.

Nice review KJ. My aluminum General comes in today. If too light I may use a heavier handle for it. I'd prefer a brass general but ya gotta grab what ya can, when ya can.............

Yeah, curious what you think and how it compares to the brass. Not sure what I think about aluminum.

I'm not sure if I'll like it either but ya never see them so for the $32 I figured if I didn't like, it I could just sell it. Probably give it a spin tomorrow.

In general the aluminum razors I’ve used have not been unpleasant, but the missing weight is definitely...missed? It’s not necessarily a con, but I do like the extra weight of brass/SS.

Tell me more about this one - meaning, the scent.

This is a refill puck that I've had for years, and never used because I didn't have a tub to put it in. I recently emptied a tub of Fairway, so I put this refill into it. This was my first use of it ever. Most of the scent is gone, because the bag it came in was not sealed. What's left is just a subtle peppermint smell. But peppermint is all I ever remember it smelling like anyway.
