The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Awesome pictures, KJ. That rainbow plant is beautiful for sure! I'm just not the biggest fan of the taste of peppers...not the heat, but the actual flavor.

In general the hotter they are the better they taste. Habaneros are very fruity tasting and delicious. Ghost peppers and hotter all have a wonderful Smokey taste to them. I don’t really care for the taste of Jalapeños myself.

Awesome pics KJ! And I am very envious of all the peppers that you grow! The wife and I have tried to grow peppers the last few years (bell peppers, Anaheim, Serrano, banana peppers) and we can get some to produce, but by and far they just don't seem to want to thrive...not like yours! Come Spring again...I think I will give it another try.

Still working my way through CBL Soaps. Today it was Ghost Lime. Quality of the soap again was top notch. The “creeper” effect of the WS-23 synthetic menthol is interesting. It’s not there at first, then it gradually builds, then tapers off. It’s a neat experience. I wish it was a bit stronger, but it was adequate. The lime scent was weak to my liking, but I know others have enjoyed it. Overall, still a great soap.

This afternoon I went to the garden to check on my peppers, and I found some nice visitors.

Another Ornate Box Turtle. Cleaning up some of my fallen tomatoes.

Another monarch.

And i I heard a bug get stuck in a garden spider’s web.

And made a short short video if you care to watch.

Cool video...major NOPE!

Is that squiggly thick zig zag webbing something particular to that spider type?

Cool nature shots KJ. Though that video would have me looking for the WD-40 and a lighter.

Great pics! At one time we had Jalapeno and Tabasco peppers growing in the yard. I thought it was pretty cool that the Tabasco pepper grew upwards like that.

I used to work in the tomato fields here as a kid. Was paid hourly and by the bushel. The size of the garden spider I have seen WOW they are big! But so cool to look at. Not fun to walk through their webs though.

Yeah, I walked into an orb weaver web this mornign as I was going to get my motorcycle out of my shed. As much as I like spiders, that's still not a good feeling.

That's awesome to see the box turtle in your garden! I love the little critters that come along and eat up the vegetables and fruit that are useless and fall to the ground. We have an opossum that finds it's way into our yard taking care of the fallen satsumas, figs, and veggies in the garden. I don't know...it just makes me happy to see them or the evidence of them.

I've seen box turtles in there a few times. I know this is a different one, because his colors were much lighter. I love animals, all kinds. Always good to see them near my house.

The Shave Stuff

I got in my new order from CBL Soap yesterday. I had to leave for Bingo almost as soon as I got home, so I didn't have time to play with them. Just enough time to open up the box, check the contents and give them all a quick sniff. Went through them all again this morning as I was doing my VLOG video, and initially, I like them all. Here is what I picked up.

Dragon's Blood & Ghost Dragon's Blood - I enjoy Dragon's Blood in all forms. I burn Dragon's blood incense all the time, and use DB shaving soap and bath soap. I just love the scent. Chris' Dragon's Blood is a bit different from what I'm used to in a great way. A bit warmer and earthier. And this is a 3-4 out of 5 on strength of scent. Possibly, my favorite DB scent so far. I used the Ghost for this morning's shave, and the cooling from the ghost is a great fit for this scent (I'm glad I thought of it!) LOL.

Cowgirl - This was a last minute add on. Wasn't sure about it. Seems to be ok. Primarily leather and lavender, but not particularly strong on either. It's a subdued, maybe a 1-2 strength of scent. I think it'll be ok, but not a favorite. There's lots of other notes in it, so I'm curious how they will play once lathered.

The Shaving Cadre - This is also a lighter scent, but stronger than cowgirl. The vetiver is great and well balanced with the citrus. So far, this is looking to be a great scent and I think it will become a favorite scent by many.

4 more tubs of Roasted Oatmeal Stout - I love this scent so much I just had to get more. Although I'm not sure if I got enough! If Chris comes out with something new and I place another order, I'll probably get some more.

Brush and Hone cleaner. - because everyone needs a soap to refresh their brushes and get that caked soap and hard water off the bristles.

So for todays shave I used the Weck OC Med Prep razor. My favorite razor of all time. It uses hair shaper blades, so it a wider razor than even the Feather AC style razors, like the Mongoose and General. I shaved my entire face (1 pass) in 11 strokes. That's crazy. It was a new Personna blade so I got a few weepers. But that's not too surprising. Takes a shave or two to calm them down.

The Spider's Web

I'm having surgery tomorrow. I have an enlarged thyroid (goiter) that needs to be removed, at least partially. They are going to take out one half of it, and test it to see if there is any cancer in there. If so, they will remove the whole thing. If that happens I'll be on medication for the rest of my life to replace the function of the thyroid. Hopefully that doesn't happen, as I'm really bad about taking pills every day.

I will be off work for two weeks for recovery. I'm sure I'll be back on the forums within a day, I don't expect to be totally out of it. It is outpatient after all. Just probably wont be making any shave videos for a while. Not sure what affect this will have on me shaving, I guess I'll have to wait and see what the doc says, and when bandages/stitches will come out.

It'll be nice having some down time, I guess. Just not how I wanted to get it. I'll be binging a lot of Netflix. Got some shows saved up for that. Anyway. I'll keep you all updated on my progress, and be looking for you all to keep me company while I'm laid up on the couch!

Dude, sorry to hear about the needed surgery. Hope everything turns out well and recovery is just you getting bored and being the fastest to reply to posts!

Not only do the thyroid meds need to be taken daily, you can't eat anything for 30 minutes to an hour. They need to be in an empty stomach so I take them 1st thing in the morning as soon as I wake up. I hope you don't need them but not a big deal if you do. Just glad you are on top of getting it handled. Hang in there.
