The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Sorry to see you in bandages...but I am sure it's for the best! Get well soon KJ!

Hope the hand heals up quickly.

Thanks. The stitches came out yesterday. Seems to be healing well so far.

Sorry I haven’t updated my journal in a while. I’ve found I like the video section more my style, so most of my updates are in my VLOG.

Is the hand healed up now?

Getting there. Some scar tissue to heal, and can’t bend my fingers back as far as I used to, so skin still needs to stretch and heal, but overall dong great!

Been a while since I’ve updated anything here. I’m not much of a journal writer, and typing long entries is somewhat difficult because I do everything from my phone.

Lately I’ve been favoring my VLOG updates rather than my journal, as they are easier for me to do, but I get the feeling there are still a lot of folks who don’t watch the member videos and only read the journals. I could be wrong, but maybe I need to find a happy medium between the two anyway.

I hate ineficiency and redundancy, and never saw the purpose of doing a journal and a VLOG on the same day, covering the same stuff. But maybe I just need to alternate between the two?

Well, anyway...... today the boys wanted to go fishing so I didn’t have time for a video, so I decided to update my journal instead.

In my videos I started going through my GD samples from Gear Noir, and I want to keep those on video, so I took a break from those. Thanks to a post yesterday about Mystic Water’s Irish Traveler by TJ, I busted mine out today and used that. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve used MW, and since it’s my favorite soap, I was glad to put it into use.

Also from my videos, I’m testing out a Gillette Techmatic. Nurse Dave sent me a NOS cartridge for it, and I’m giving it a test drive. I’ve mostly heard bad things about them in the past, but wanted to see for myself. Today was Shave 2, and I’m flabbergasted! The shave was amazing. Very mild, like seriously the mildest razor I’ve ever used, so mild that I don’t really care for the feel of it. But closeness was almost beyond compare. I swear, the shave was closer than any razor I have recently used, including the Rockwell, Timeless, Fatboy, and Merkur HD. Crazy, but true.

Finished up with another dose of Tabac-A-Veg. Honestly, when the mixture was first thought of and created, I was not a huge fan, it was just OK, but now I love it. Going to be mixing up a bigger bottle soon!

The Spider’s Web

The boys wanted to go to my friends pond today to fish, and I sit here watching them as I type this up. Just like every other pond in the area, the water level is quite low. His water level is down probably a foot and a half. We need rain!!! But his pond is big enough that it doesn’t affect it much and the fishing is still good. Both my boys have caught a few bass each so far. Which is good, because usually only one or the other has good luck when we come here.

Pretty place to hang out. I also read a lot of people complaining about the Techmatic and I had the same results as you did. That’s fine with me, less people to compete with to get the cartridges.

I plan on using it every day, to see how long that one edge will last me before I need to rotate to a fresh one.

Sounds like a good time KJ!

I have heard both ways about the Techmatic. Glad it's working for you.

I think folks who have a bad experience with them, must have bad carts. They are in a blister pack, so moisture could easily get through the package and degrade the blade even though it’s sealed.

Great reads KJ! I am one of those reading the journals from my phone, hadn’t watched many videos yet.

Glad to see you are recovering well and can get out for a bit of fishing with the boys. We are finally getting rain here and it’s every bit of 6 inches on the rain gauge. Luckily I’m in the garage working on a old car and not out in it.

I gave my son a techmatic and a box of NOS blade reels. I told him the supply of blade reels is limited and suggested he try to get as much as possible from each blade. One blade reel lasted him better than a year so it looks like the box will last quite some time. He loves it. He used to uses a straight or Weck but since getting the techmatic he has pretty much set those aside.

There is such a thing as an adjustable techmatic but I’ve never been able to find the blades, I think the blade pack is where the adjustments to blade exposure are made.

We need that bad! My pond has completely dried up.

Yes, I addressed that aspect in my video. My Techmatic came with one of the adjustable cartridges installed in it. I’d really like to try one of those!
