This soap scent is really nice. The lather is rich, creamy, and slick...perfect for the task.
The shave with this razor was nice. Silent, smooth and comfortable in 3passes for a ccs to sas result & 1 red spot.
The aftershaves were terrific.

Love the scent of this soap and this aftershave. I don’t know why Douglas doesn’t make a soap in this scent and keep the AS as part of his permanent collection.IMG_0369.jpg

AoS Unscented~~Simpson Emperor 3~~2011 Mühle R41/Voskhod~~Michael for Men
Today's shave comes after a 3-day, thought I may have Covid-19, got tested and came back negative ((y)), turns out to be bronchitis, no-shaving.
The Art of Shaving (Valobra) really
knocked it outta the park, with the able assistance of the Simpson
Emperor.
The tallow-rich soap is as slick as today's artisan creations, but being a true, triple-milled soap,
doesn't suffer from a limited shelf-life.
Take a gander:

Next to my straight razors, nothing, but nothing wipes away 3 days growth better
than my 2011 Mühle R41. I eschew the Mühle stock handles, because, frankly, they are too slippery
and, imo, dangerous. You can see I use a Weber Bulldog (fantastic handle).

First pass and 99% of the growth is gone. Because I had this much growth, I am letting the goatee grow.
Second pass was an ATG and shaping the goat.
No missteps, no nicks or cuts.
My post-shave routine has settled into the
following:
1) Thayer's Witch Hazel.
2) An unscented ASB, today was the very lightly-scented Thayer's ASB.
Disclaimer: I rarely use aftershaves these days, opting instead for a cologne or EdT.
Today, is really my signature scent:

This is a terrific tobacco scent, but get tonic bean out of your thoughts.
This is not Aramis Tobacco Reserve, nor any other "pipe tobacco" scent.
It's bright and fruity and the dry down is stunning.
Sadly, this juice was discontinued, but never fear,
Primo has two full bottles as back up.

National Bum Day

Rooney 3/3 Porcelain Finest (26/59)
Ralph Lauren Safari shaving soap (tallow)
Haircut & Shave P076-SB 17-4/Triad Aristocrat Black
Polsilver Super Iridium (12)
Ralph Lauren Safari aftershave (vintage)

An excellent slow shave on a rainy morning, with Baroque music on the radio (including Bobby McFerrin singing a cello part on a Vivaldi double concerto); Baroque music always seems, for some illogical reason, to fit the autumn season best. I enjoyed the Safari software, which definitely would be in the running for my desert island shave setup if I were to be so limited. And the blade, at the end of its life, was dragging in the H&S, which - although quite good - is probably the least smooth of my 10 razors. And before anyone jumps on me for using the politically incorrect term 'bum,' the cartoon is from a time when there were more clearly defined itinerant hoboes and bums...
