Friday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Speick Shave Cream
Jayaruh #438 Synthetic
Fatip Grande
PolSilver
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Speick After Shave

The Speick Shave Cream face-lathered well with Jayaruh #438 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Fatip Grande razor and the PolSilver Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Speick After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Friday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 5
De Vergulde Hand SS
De Vergulde Hand ASB

A very cheap, basic setup from the Netherlands - the De Vergulde Hand is the oldest soap on the market - it’s been in around for over 450 years so the company obviously knows what it’s doing. Do I ever love its classy old school scent, it’s not a tallow soap but it lathers great, it’s quite slick, and in Dutch it says “ook vor de gevoelige huid” which means “also for sensitive skin” so it leaves a really comfortable postshave feeling. The matching balm has the same awesome scent, and not only is it very moisturizing and soothing it has a bit of a menthol effect. Three passes and I’m super BBS - what a great shave this was!

Have a good weekend - be well and stay safe!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Wow! What a killer shave to start the day! Returned to Ariana & Evans and their excellent "Peach & Cognac" shave soap and splash. Fantastic scent with incredible lather built with the RajonCajon synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash & Versace "Eros" EdT. Love the scent of P&C! The Versace frag is a nice complementary scent but you have to tread lightly. A little goes a long way.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

A very nice shave Akhi! Thank you for sharing a bit of history on this soap. 450 years and still going. Very impressive! I will look to give it a try at some point.

Saturday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 6
Boots Shaving Stick
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash

Another cheap, basic setup for today - this Boots stick from the UK may or may not be available presently. Personally I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t because it’s not a particularly good soap. It has a fairly decent sort of lemony/soapy scent, the lather is good but it’s not that great skincare wise. The Lubriderm moisturizer helped me a lot, and the Aqua Velva aftershave gave me a nice chilly kick. These Perma Sharps are fantastic - this one gave me a terrific three pass BBS shave - no complaints whatsoever!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe!
