I take pictures of my razors when they're shiny and new, because they aren't any more. I make a mess of my razors, simply can't keep them clean. I think it's my well water. A couple of years ago @bluesman let me borrow one of his razors. Just once. I sheepishly returned it with a haze just over the bevel that was embarrassing. I think it need to be polished to be cleaned up.

Just some notes on this one. There was a break between shaves to squeeze in the Deton-8. Anyway, bloomed the soap for a minute while I gathered my kit. Wrung out the synth and got to it with a damp brush. Lather had a nice consistency with a low volume lather.
Slickness and residual slickness seemed to improve a bit between passes. The residual was kinda fleeting, maybe like it was absorbing. Not awesome, but workable. What bugged me was the scent. For whatever reason, I smelled cold grease. Post shave was good. It was soft and smooth, just a tad behind soap #1. It felt moisturized, but not powdery smooth. Still really nice. I think that’s all I got for now. Life is good!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain............... Those are long gone appointments...........now they're cutting skin out of a shoulder for biopsy, chest x-rays and Pulmonary function with bronchial dilator tests etc. Sounds worse than it is but not a massage. Hope you and misses fair well Tim

The Process-
Late morning shave ... oh yeah! A bit later than normal and I’ll explain below. I still have one more mystery soap to review, but wanted to hit this Deton-8 again. 30 second load time and whipped up a really nice lather. The scent of the soap is great and seems to open up a bit more when shaving. Had plenty of lather for the shave and post shave.
40 laps on leather and it was go time! Went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. An excellent shave, very smooth and relaxing. And as an added bonus, I am BBS for the win! Man that’s good stuff right there.
A post shave lather while I rinse the kit. Then wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and drip dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! You know it. Clean shaved and smelling great. The missus had to lean in for a sniff too. Missus approved. Life is good!

Had a breaker go out in our central heat. Which killed the thermostat and heat pump. In the mid 30’s last night but our house is old and not well insulated. Anyway got that repaired this morning, which delayed my shave. Off to car shop and Christmas shop.

Ran the 2 doxies to the vet. We thought we might be losing the 17 year old, she hasn’t eaten in 2 days. Turns out she has an infected tooth, so she is on antibiotics. Once the swelling is down, they will remove it. More car shopping again today too. Almost forgot to mention that my 100 count of Wizamet’s came in today.
