The Deets-
Finished out the work week with the Sangre de Drago and then grabbed the Duc de Santal for today. I had several break in options for this new knot. I could have set it in a glass of water and put it in the fridge … nope. I could have lathered and let it set for 24 hours, then rinse and repeat … nope. I just used my tried and true method. I let it sit in warm water for about 5 minutes, loaded the soap very heavy and then shaved.

Works every time. I load a lot heavier with a new knot, because I expect it to eat some of the soap. I scored three smooth passes and I am BBS for the win! The soap was a bit thin on the last two passes, but it worked. Wrapped everything up with witch hazel and then a splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Cold and overcast today … hm. Life is good!
I agree, Tim. Just use it and beat the snot out of it and it will be great for years.
What do you think of the Duc de Santal? I think it is a very underrated (underrreported?) Sandalwood.

The Deets-
Had a nice late morning shave today and Casino Royale sounded like a good scent to go with. I also got to try out my new brush, the Fluffy Industries V2 Mini Copper with a TGN boar knot. The handle has a nice heft to it and the bottom is magnetic. Pretty cool. I went with my standard three passes and I am BBS for the win! The Henckels did a great job but was a bit loose, so I’ll need to tighten the hinge pin up a bit. Slapped on a bit of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Yes it was, I really dig this scent. Life is good!

The Deets-
Grabbed a DE and the Nag Champa for an early morning shave. I may have forgot to mention that I am on vaca this week and fully intended to do a late morning shave. But for some unknown reason, the missus had her alarm set for 7:00a. She woke up long enough to turn off the alarm and she was back asleep. Unfortunately, I was not. Not in the pic is the brush warmer I used today for a nice, very warm lather.

Three warm, smooth passes and I was BBS for the win! Very nice! Wrapped everything up with a splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Not much going on today, so I may break out a few straights to hone up. Life is good!
