@GearNoir I just saw that Platinum released a new inexpensive pen called the Prefounte that has the cap sealing I mentioned and it goes for about 10€ here. I’d highly recommend that for as fiddle free of an experience as possible.

They also have the Preppy which is essentially the same pen, but all plastic. I didn’t realize it also has the sealing cap. It’s less than $5 iirc but IMO not so nice looking because all the UPC coding etc is printed on the body.

Looks like a few of those Platinums have the “slip seal” tech. Good find! So nice to have a variety of inexpensive and decent products available.

They do have the slip seal caps that the Preppy also has. I think the Prefounte is supposed to be a slightly nicer version of the Preppy.

I can't see getting a high end Fountain as I prefer ballpoint reliability and simplicity.................I know, I know. Don't shoot me, it is what it is. But that one is gorgeous when you consider the craftsmanship. I totally get it and glad you got it...........................that sounded funny but you know what I mean

Dang you get all into it, lol...I just hold my pieces under warm water from the faucet.

Have you had to clean out the vanishing point yet? Any more difficult than a regular FP?

The bulb syringe gets water out of the filler hole and places it wouldn’t just flow out by gravity. It took about 8 times with the red one for the water to run clean.

VPs have an adapter too so no problem.
