First time ever trying MdC. I got samples from Maggards of Fougere and Vetier. I have been curious about MdC for years but the cost always scared me to blind buy it. I smooshed the Fougere into the bottom of my salsa bowl, and whipped up some lather. Talk about lather explosion!!! Started with a mostly dry brush, but the lather kept building. The stories about MdC where guys say a few swirls with a brush and they have more lather than they can use...are true. Dipped the tips a few times, large bubbles appeared but quickly got mixed into a wonderful lather. Painted my face and did a bit more water, dipping the brush tips a few times. Nice and slick, and wonderful post shave feel, buttery smooth.
The hype is real, I tell ya!

No, I chose them. Pricey for samples, I paid the same for those two as a 12 pack of Arko. I have been curious about MdC for a while.

Another wonderful shave. Might try Arko tomorrow, see how the shave feels with same blade and razor.

Later today, I get the pleasure of starting to fill up a 10x16 shed we had delivered last week. Gonna
empty most of what's in the garage, lawn equipment, workbenches, etc. into it. Eventually all the seasonal decorations up in the attic as well, that's why we went with the lofted barn model.IMG_20200407_035536_01.jpg

I've always been curious about MdC too. I think I'm more likely to try Nuavia Rossa, though. I'll get a sample someday.

That's a mighty fine shed! Enjoy the extra space.

A sample of the Nuavia Rossa was in the sample pass around. It’s very nice!

Apr 07, 2020 Shave 102 1900, Previous shave was in the wee hours of the morning. Nice shower after some some sweaty moving from the garage into the shed, and some Chinese take out.

Surprised I've gotten so many shaves from a carbon blade. Usually I see they start to rust on the edge so I usually am a "one and done" with carbon steel blades.

I actually had Sausage Fried Rice. It was on their fusion menu. Sausage, cashew nuts, and traditional fried rice. Damned good.

Great shave. The Weber is a simple thought free shave. Put it to your face and it works.
MdC is amazing stuff. Treet DuraSharp gave a nice shave, let's see if it lasts like the last one I used.

Lol. Try it, you just may like it. Then again, you might not, haha. If some people find peanut butter flavored whiskey drinkable, I guess anything can be considered consumable.

Don't knock it till you try it ;)
Touche! I did try it and didn't like it one bit, had a very artificial taste to it, like some kind of artificial sweetener syrup.
Sausage Fried rice > peanut butter whiskey.

Another great shave. As I rotate through my shaving stash, I wonder if the shave would be better with this particular razor and blade, with a different soap. Then I was hit with an epiphany- who am I kidding? I like variety, and I will never be down to one blade brand, one razor, one soap. Just enjoy today's shave as it is. Be zen with the shave. Use the products until I feel like changing them, and enjoy each day and shave for what it is.

I’m occasionally a little jealous of the guys who, knowing how much variety is out there, are perfectly happy to use one of each shaving product until it is gone. But then I get over it and go sniff my soap collection.

My face was so smooth after the shave. Yeah, I
faceturbated, lol.
Sometimes I wish I could use all of my razors for each shave. Same for my soaps. But I have to use them one by one, rotating them when I change blades. For years I 3017d soaps, but the last couple of months I've been failing that. Well it's not really a failure, still having great shaves, just enjoying rotating soaps. And to me, the daily mandatory ritual of shaving is made far more enjoyable by using different products.
All the respect for this who can and do use a minimalist set-up, but at the same time, we all have to shave our own face.

You’re having a long, slow rotation of collective 3017s...it’s all good man!
