I dunno about vests. Our VP's holiday gift to leaders this year was a vest. Guess it's nice enough, thin but super warm. I never really was a vest person. No specific reason just didn't grow up in a vest wearing family. Although many moons ago I did wear one at times as a floor nurse because it added a little warmth in the winter without getting in the way of patient stuff. Wearing this vest is causing a thermal imbalance. My arms are chilly but my core is starting to sweat. Now, I can wear shorts in the cold with the "keep your core warm" theory. But not this cold arms sweating chest and pits stuff.
This Valentine's is also driving me crazy. Every year I have good plans that are thwarted because I don't think to start planning until Feb. Well this year I was going to be on top of it. Well nope, my first two selections are already booked up. We'll have a nice day of it anyway, but ,mercy do I need to put a reminder on the calendar in like Oct to start planning for next year??

Ask your number 1 and 2 pick how long in advance you need to book. Some places I know are booked for the NEXT year within a couple of days after the previous one...

Used another scent sample today. Not too excited about this one. Too much of the green lead note and short lived.
I knew my wife was leaving to London for work this month, but didn't realize she was going on Saturday until Saturday morning. So the weekend was filled with time in the lounge, video games, calzone for dinners and action shows. I really liked the first season of Night Agent and started the 2nd season and it's shaping up to be exciting as well.
FYI, there are cookie dough Oreos out now. They are sweeter than the original, but do hit the flavor note spot on.

Got the 2nd winery tasting secured for Valentine's Day. We'll be tasting at Spottswoode vineyard which was purchased by a doctor from southern California in 1972 just for a change of pace. He passed away early and his family has been running it since. If you would like to chat more about wine, it will be one of the topics on Drinks & Daves tonight which is just now returning for the 2026 season.

I have a mental hurdle for three day weekends when it's the Monday we get off. It's so unusual to have or take a Monday off as opposed to a Friday that mentally I consider the weekend over on Sunday and Monday is just kinda like this extra day with no plans. Whereas when it's Friday off, the weekend starts early and lasts all to Sunday. But whatevs, I'll happily not come in.
Wife gets back from London tomorrow so that will be nice. This was her first major trip with her boss who normally just has local support staff helping him and he said he was happy to have her along and her help was needed. Good for her but lame for me if it leads to more travel. There is already rumbling from others about taking her to Milan for Olympic events.
