Victoria's Secret Too Sexy

Nice weekend before the rains are supposed to come this week. I realized I should have put the lights up on the house while the weather was nice. Hopefully Thanksgiving weekend will be nice so it can be done then. We went to the SF Coffee Fair on Saturday. Mostly a ton of coffee roasters with free samples. It was interesting and fun to do once. There was one company where the picture of the farmer is right on the bag of beans. That's something I'd normally be really down with. It seems really cool to not only know which area of which country your beans come from, but which farm and who actually grew them. But, what we found is it seems the trend right now is to brighter, fruitier coffees. I get that in terms of flavors that makes sense, it's just not where my taste buds are. So after all the tasting, I'll stick with my coffee guy.

Did some chores around the house as well including the removal of widows and screens from our bedroom to be able to wash the outside. Prep stuff for having people over around Christmas. My wife and are also finding ourselves alone at dinner time more frequently now and realizing we can go out. So we went to a wine bar last night which was nice.

If you haven't heard on the news, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting is in SF this week. We've been getting all sorts of warnings about staying out of the city if you can or certainly trying not to drive. All sorts of road closures by the Secret Service and such. I'm just hoping to maybe catch a few foreign government planes at the airport. Because my wife works in the financial sector, she does have to go in every day this week. But at least she takes mass transit. To make it even more worth her while, she found out this morning she got a promotion. Earlier in this year her boss was promoted to president of the company so up she goes! Nice little Monday morning news for her.

I'm planning a decent sized PIF on my YouTube channel for next year and I thought this soap was a likely candidate, but I think for the first time using it, I do get the feeling of winter air. Maybe I'll have to keep it.

I haven't read Gear's journal yet, but I'm pretty sure it's Friday. Which kinda sucks because most of this morning it felt like Saturday and I had to keep reminding myself I needed to go into work.BUT, that does mean the new TV should be here tomorrow. Speaking of TV, the big F1 Vegas race is finally coming. Have any of you been following and seen what a mess that is? They had to cancel practice yesterday because of a drain cap in the street being sucked up and ruining one of the cars. The whole venue looks like **** too. I've seen a few videos from the stands and I'd be ticked paying what people did. The course is so narrow, that you're looking at fencing everywhere.

Decided to go back and challenge the DE shavette again. Different shavette, same brand of blade. Last time I used a DE shavette I got slices two days in a row. Nothing today but a smooooth shave. I'll have to go back and try that shavette that bested me and see how it goes. I'm sure B Dave would rather I wait until I'm on camera for that.

Yes I have been watching every night. Indeed it is a ****show. No reason for that car to be damaged. Some inspector is going to be begging on the strip for money soon

Race officials and track engineers have made rapid inspections and repairs to 30 such water valves along the Strip – by filling them in with a mix of asphalt and resin that is hoped will keep them in place sufficiently when the cars are running over them at top speed on such a long straight.

You know. Just cross your fingers and see if you get smacked by a hunk of concrete at 200mph

That says it all “ hoped”. Pathetic

Wait a second......hold the phone.....back the truck up........there's an F1 race going on in Vegas????? The heck you say!

Yeah....its been 6 months of S**T Show. The whole center of town, and the place where most of our economy is earned, has been a construction site 24/7. Granted....it won't be this bad over the rest of the years when they run this race (there's currently a contract to run it for 10 years!).....but at the moment, everyone is either embarrassed or pissed.

As for the people that bought tickets......at the prices they're charging....only the very high end crowd is going to this event....and the thought that they will be sitting outside in 48 degree weather at midnight to watch race cars go by them for only a few seconds out of each lap where they can barely see anything....is hilarious. We love the snotty rich people that come here and pay way too much to be treated special when they get a dose of real world experiences that is a slightly less than perfectly run sporting event. I'll be sitting on my couch on sunday morning watching it in the comfort of my warm home....with food and drinks that didn't cost me thousands of dollars. I know this is a rich man's sport.....but some of these prices are outrageous.

I would stay home, too. You'll have wall to wall race coverage to enjoy.
