The last couple of days I've woken up a little late which lead to no picture and a DE. Was it meh? Oh heck no. Whiskers were defeated with an efficiency that the Visigoths wish they could have focused on the Franks during the Battle of Vouille.

So I get a text from my wife in the middle of the day yesterday about water leaking from the pipe that leads to the water heater. Well after a few questions, a facetime video, and a follow-up, I learned it was dripping from the joists in the utility area from the bathroom above it which floor was almost covered with water. Home I go. Luckily her boss was out of town which meant she was home and decided to do laundry otherwise it could have gone on for hours longer. I traced the leak to the shutoff valve to the toilet, which didn't stop when the valve was shut. It actually looked like it was coming from the threaded joint to the supply pipe. Off goes the water to the house, I remove the valve, and the threads look fine, I cover the pipe in plumber's tape and put the valve back on again. Nope, still leaking from the joint. That doesn't make any sense to me. So a trip to the hardware store to find out these valves aren't a standard size and then another trip with the old part to compare to and everything was all fixed up with a new valve. Still doesn't make any sense to me or the old dude at the hardware store, but I'm glad I was able to fix it rather than need to leave the water to the house off waiting for a plumber.

We did have an excellent show with KJ as the guest last night. So that was a bonus end to the day!

Dude! I forgot to mention I screwed up a watch strap. I was wearing a brushed leather strap that water soaked into before I thought to take it off. Sad days :(
not ruined, experienced, put some mink oil on it take a bristle brush and it will be as good as new. Remember cows stand outside in water... It is natural skin, unless its synthetic, in which case I need to put you through watch buying school again

I dunno, it hasn't been a particularly tough week but it's felt like we're a day behind all week. I looked at my shave tracker app on my phone and didn't know why Thursday's shave hadn't uploaded yet. Well, because today is Thursday. Le sigh.

In other news, B Dave is an 🤬🤬🤬. Well, that's not news for anyone, but let me tell you specifically why this time. You know that ameba that can occur in stagnant water that if you're unlucky enough to do just the wrong thing in the wrong body of water it goes up into your brain and starts to multiply and cause an infection? Well in this case that ameba was an off-hand comment from B Dave during a Zoom call I believe stating that I should turn one of our large wine coolers into a humidor. I think I'm finally at the point I can fit all our wine into one cooler, so I posted one of them on Nextdoor for sale. It's too specialized to sell there I guess, no bites. So this little bug in my head starts growing, wondering what it would take to turn it into a humidor. Not much. An electric humidifier, and some cedar trays to put the cigars in. Add in some LED lights for a cool effect and presto, you have a humidor that will store like 2 bazillion cigars. Trouble is, it will look super cool, but also a little silly since all my cigars would fit on one shelf that's big enough to hold like 12-14 bottles of wine. The other cool thing is all the pipe tobacco can go in there too. Heck, the three midgets that Rich hired in Vegas could fit in there. Another downfalls include not getting rid of a big appliance I was planning on freeing up space from, and the problem of not running out of space ever to throttle spending on cigars.

So then state two since the rabbit hole opened up and I fell in. The above was the result of finding a YT video of a guy doing this transformation with a cooler that's just like mine. But during official rabbit hole research, I found there is a thing called Wineador. People take the smaller wine coolers that don't have compressors so they aren't removing the moisture from the air and turning them into humidors. The cooling is already integrated and then the same thing. You just added a smaller humidifier and some cedar and Bob's your uncle. Well....I just so happen to have one of the smaller like 28 bottle coolers store downstairs. And since this is a thing, there is a company that makes cedar drawers specifically to slide into the slots the wire racks are on these things. So it looks like it's meant to be that way once you get the whole thing done. So with this option, I can still get rid of the big unit at some point, but need to find space for this thing that wasn't planned on being used again. Plus, while a limit on how many cigars I can store would be good, not having a limit is pretty cool too. Like I said. Dave is an 🤬
