Great shave this morning with Barrister & Mann's The Full Measure of Man Shaving soap. It's an unusual scent. I can't identify any particular notes - my nose is pretty ignorant, but apparently there's Mousse de Saxe, which some people rave about. All I know is that the scent is unusual, pleasant, and strong enough to let me enjoy it throughout the shave. The Yates did a great job, and I'm BBS after four comfortable passes. The Reuzel aftershave is silky smooth on the face.

First shave with my new Timeless Titanium .95! I used to have this razor in Stainless steel, but it was too heavy. This razor is perfect in terms of weight. I got a nice BBS with a new Wizamet, and follows it up with some Lakewood Smokeberry balm. It was a great shave, and I'm very happy with my purchase!

Well, it's been almost exactly a year since I posted. A lot has happened. I lost one parent, and have moved, to be able to take care of the other. I just found myself in a period where wetshaving was something I did, and enjoyed, but didn't have time for much time beyond that I reserved for shaving itself. So, I'm still around, and can hopefully get back to the forum more in the future.

Today was cool because I finally got to try a Wolfman, and it was very nice. I'll have to use it a lot more before I could really evaluate it. But this first shave with it was terrific. It was a great deal, and I was lucky to find it.

I felt like breaking out the Timeless Ti .95 tonight. The Stainless version was too heavy for my liking, but the Titanium hits me right in my sweet spot. Old faithfully, the Astra SP, filled the bill. The Simpson Berkeley is a small brush, but it held plenty of lather for 4 passes. The aftershave was PAA's Tribute, which is redolent of cherry and sandalwood. It was a great shave. Also today, I took delivery of some Lakewood soaps and a couple of soaps, Vida, by A&E, and Barbershop de Los Muertos 3. I also received 500 Gillette Platinum. With the strife in Ukraine, I went into full shavepocalypse mode and bought what I hope is a lifetime supply of my favorite Russian blades. So, while it's already mid-March, I'm starting a restraint for an indeterminate period of time. I'm pretty sure i could do it permanently and enjoy what I have. That's the plan, just as soon as I order a Vector to replace my stolen one. y'all have a great day!

I went to a small Liberal Arts College in Annapolis, MD, which is just down the road from DC. Weekend trips there were common, usually to get the chili at Clyde's and a visit to Tower Records. Another place I'd go was the Old Post Office. It's a Trump Hotel now, but then it was a shopping mall, with a Caswell-Massey store. It is there that I first smelled Number Six, which famously was the cologne of choice for George Washington. That caché aside, I loved the scent. Powdery and a little sweet. Decades ensued, and a week ago Google pushed an ad for Number Six Shave Cream and aftershave. Sold! I tried it this morning, and can only recommend it for the scent. It lathers well, but it totally lacks residual slickness and is a little drying. Still, it smells great, but would probably benefit from a couple of drops of glycerin. The RK blade did great in the Henson for which it is designed. A great shave, a mediocre cream with a great scent. Have a great weekend everybody!

Frank! Great to see ya dude! Hope you’re well!
I'm doing well, had a bit of a long dark night of the soul, but times are better, and I'm emerging from a cocoon of sorts. I'm still enjoying what I have, and will really ever only need to buy more Musgo Real Lime Glyce Face Soap, and witch hazel. So, I guess I've sort of settled into a bit of a restraint. But I'm enjoying my shaves recently - more than I have in a while. So, I'm good, and getting better. If I'm not working, I'm going to try and get to a Zoom meeting soon.
