Know what that's called?

A good start. [emoji16]

Sounds like a great shave Frank! Have a great day.
Yeah, I have to digest some before I get many more. I'm out of room!

Four passes and I'm BBS with no irritation!

Quite distracted today. My father had a stroke a couple of days ago, and my thoughts are all over the place. I may be going to visit him. It's complicated.

Thanks for reading and have a great shave!

Dang Frank, sorry about your father. I hope heā€™s on the mend and youā€™re able to visit.
Thanks Chris. I spoke with him briefly, an his only deficit was him having trouble coming up with words. Any thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

5% of the cost goes to charities benefitting veterans and first responders,
I love companies that give back to their communities. Soap sounds intriguing.
3oz version for $9.99, and a whopping 6oz tub for $19.99.
Clearly, the smart move is to buy two 3 oz versions, thereby saving a penny, which can go toward your next purchase. See? This hobby does save money!

Thanks for the good wishes guys. He's having trouble finding words, but has suffered no paralysis, and his word-finding should improve. He's four hours away by car, and unfortunately, that is a car I do not have, so I'm staying in touch by phone, daily.

I tried out Union, by Moon Soaps, and it was a very welcome bit of peace. Shaving was a respite tonight, and I enjoyed it very much.

Razor: Rex Supply Envoy
Blade: Wizamet Super Iridium
Brush: Simpson Milk Churn Best Badger
Lather: Moon Soaps Union
Aftershave: Proraso Red Aftershave Lotion
Additional Care:
Osma Tradition Alum Block
Humphreys Maravilla
Roberts Borotalco Talcum Powder

Union is lightly mentholated, so that by the fourth pass, my face felt ever so slightly cool and fresh. Nothing eye watering or glacial, just a lightly scented, well performing tallow soap. They render their own tallow, which is an in house step I've not seen announced by other artisans. I've now tried three of the four Moon soaps, and their cream. Each one has been a pleasure. Tomorrow, I'll give Sorrento a run, and I'm sure it will be as nice a colonia as Union and Old School are what I'd call barbershops. Union's gimmick is the mentholation, but it's very nicely done. Reserved, but effective. I may have to go ahead next month and get the matching balms for these soaps. The Envoy did its work, with a lovely attention grabbing blade feel from the Wizamet SI. Im going to get the full 250 sleeve in January.

I really appreciate all the kind words and well wishes about my Father. It really means a lot.

I'm back in insomnia phase this weekend, so my morning shave comes hopefully at the end of my waking hours, which are now 20 in number. I spent the overnight watching a YouTube channel called Haircut Harry, and it was really cool. Basically, he goes to barbershops all over the world and gets a shave and/or a haircut. Some of these old school barbers really know how to wield a straight razor, and they don't wig out whipping up the lather. They want their lather copious and thin. They waste no time whipping up a mugfull, and rather than scrubbing, they paint, or almost dab it on liberally. It makes me want to get a shave this week at the local Barbershop, but I can get so much better results doing it myself, and I don't want to pay for a shave right now. One barber shave costs as much as a 4oz tub of a good artisan soap.

The Simpson Trafalgar is a very nice synthetic brush. It doesn't splay as easily as my PAA synths, but isn't scritchy like my Thayer. I guess I'm a Simpson collector now. I'm not really interested in getting another brand. I want the Persian Jar, Keyhole and Tulip next.

The Moon Soaps Sorrento is my second favorite Moon soap, after Amaretto Speciale, which rates near the top of my overall favorite scents list. I haven't actually made such a list, but I'm hard pressed to think of one I like better. Roasted Oatmeal Stout is what I come up with. That's the best I've come across to date.

I spoke with my dad, who is home from the hospital. He is having difficulty speaking, not slurring, but unable to think of the words he needs. I hope he gets better. He's 79. He just bought a tricked out Jeep, and now it's probably not safe for him to drive. Getting old sucks. Thanks again to everyone for your kind words and good wishes.

Thanks for reading and have a great shave!

I keep mine on 3 or 4 usually. Hard to go wrong with a Fatboy anyway really!

My new Simpson Commodore X3 is a little funky, and I guess I didn't clean it enough, but it works great! B&M Fougere Angelique smells divine and works great. The Nacet in the Diamondback did its job.

Lather: Barrister and Mann Fougere Angelique (first use)
Aftershave: Nivea 2 in 1

Got my Thanksgiving grocery shopping done today. Looks like green bean casserole is a popular dish around here. I'm making some, and it was nice to see a display with all the ingredients in one place. I bought a smoked turkey breast from Honey Baked Ham Co. And some yeast rolls. And some Bob Evans mac and cheese. It's just going to be me and my mother this year, as we're both staying put because of the virus. The vaccine news is hopeful. Any way, she can't really do cooking from scratch anymore, and I'd much rather have a nicely smoked turkey breast, but I didn't bring my smoker here from Baltimore. Frankly, the Honey Baked Ham Turkey is about as good as turkey gets for me. I only like the breast meat anyway. So it's going to be a low key Thanksgiving this year. I'll take some extra time and choose a great soap, razor, and brush for a special holiday morning shave.

Thanks for reading and have a great shave!
