Tonight's shave was all about relaxing and recovering from a day of assorted angsts. Shaving is pretty much my main luxury right now, and I love luxuriating in the scents and sensations, of soaps, brushes, and Aftershaves - of a smooth blade under control. I love it. Tonight was about comfort. So, as I do on these kinds of days, I passed on the artisans and went full-on dependable Proraso Red.

Prep: Hot shower, Ach Brito Glyce Soap, Proraso Red Pre-shave cream
Razor: Rex Supply Envoy
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Cream: Proraso Red
Brush: Parker Long Loft Badger
Post-shave: Osma Tradition Alum Block
After-Shave: Proraso Red

Tonight I broke out the scuttle. And the Envoy, which is my absolute go to for a smooth, close shave. I used the Proraso cream, for it's effortlessness, and made a great brush full of wet, slick lather, all the while breathing in the scent, which I love. My four passes were comfortable and left me with a BBS result. I feel 100% better, and am very fortunate that I'm able to indulge in this hobby which has given me so much enjoyment and comfort. I started out wetshaving with Proraso, and it's not that often that I use it, but today it was what was called for, and it delivered.

Have a great shave everyone!

Proraso Red will always be a favorite of mine. Honestly, for the money, if anyone truly was just looking to save money with this hobby they could easily only use Proraso and still have a satisfying shave everyday. Great shave set up and nice entry!

Envoy pass I was on had me surprised. Wasn't worth full price but may get one some time on a bst. Nice razor
I dialed it in, using it every day in March. Since then I've had a couple of new razors to try - mainly at Timeless .95, which burned me badly. Too heavy for my taste too. I've returned to the Envoy because I really have it down. Thanks for reading!

Great feeling when you find the one that works the best for you 👍

Well, my face is finally fully recovered from the carnage wreaked upon it by my Timeless. The jury is still out on it. I'm going to try it tomorrow with a different blade. I haven't decided which one. That'll be a game time decision. I will say that I find it a bit heavy, so if I can't find a blade to work with it I'll end up selling it.

Prep: Hot shower, Ach Brito Glyce Soap, Cella Pre-shave gel
Razor: Rex Supply Envoy
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Soap: Stirling Almond Cream
Brush: Thater Synthetic
Post-shave: Osma Tradition Alum Block, cold water rinse
After-Shave: Stirling Almond Creme

It was an effortless shave tonight. I went with stuff I feel the freedom to use since I'm shaving late at night and no one will really smell me but me. Almond Cream isn't an Aftershave I'd wear out, or to work, but I love the way it smells. I smell like dessert! Stirling soap really works great for me, and my Thater brush is firm enough to really load the soap. I don't hold back loading my brush. Especially when I enjoy the smell so much. The Envoy did its work perfectly, and the Astra SP glided through the stubble without tugging. It's my first time using anything other than a Gillette Silver Blue with this razor, and I'm very happy with the result, a four-pass BBS shave.

Tomorrow I'm going hunting for toilet paper. Wish me luck! Thanks for reading and have a great shave!

Thanks! I'm starting here in town, but I'm prepared to drive all the way to Nashville, hitting every grocery and Walmart along the way. I'm going to try Dollar Generals too. Ugh.

Don’t know what the exact situation is there, but our usual place (a Target) was picked clean of TP goods for a while. The morning we needed ours I arrived 30 minutes before opening, I was in the first 10 in line, and came away with an ample sized pack, no problem. 🤷‍♂️

My sister found some at Target too. It's about 20 min away, and there are 5 grocery stores in between. I'm going to speak with the managers and find out when the shipments are coming in and then plan my next trip. Tomorrow will probably be a fact finding tour. I have an order for 10 rolls on Amazon, but it's 7-10 days away, and we won't make it til then. The Amazon paper is going to be a backup. Strange days!

Always good to start a mission with planning and a map. You're going to need someone here in charge of comms and a navigator.

Happy to send you a few rolls to tide you over.

Thank you so much for your kind offer! Ive got some in hand right now, and some industrial brand that should be here next week, so my current mission isn't desperate. I've just been concerned since my two go-to stores have been consistently devoid of product. But I greatly appreciate the offer, and it's a load off my mind just knowing of that availability. I'm really touched by your kindness. I'm blessed to have found this forum!
