MarkB's Basses, Shaves & Other Obsessions

5 March, 2026

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with one from Pink Floyd off their 1987 album, A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Hope you enjoy.

Wonderful shave this morning! Today I decided on a humble Williams shave. No detectable scent, just incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Williams Aqua Velva aftershave splash and Creed "Himalaya" EdP. Some minor feedback from the alum on my neck from a little too much pressure. Other than that, perfection!

BBS bliss!!

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: The warmth continues and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

Hope you have a great day. :)

A Momentary Lapse Of Reason was the first CD I ever bought as we did that technological move from vinyl to compact disc (a move I'm now actively reversing, haha...). I loved that record at the time, and still enjoy much of it. There was an interesting remix that came out around 2019 I think, where some of the "80s sheen" of the production was lowered, and some of Richard Wright's parts were reinstated/brought up in the mix. It's an interesting listen.

haha, amazing!

I remember putting the headphones on and just being blown away by the sound of that opening track...so good!

I saw them on that tour in Toronto - a somewhat infamous gig as a kid who attended that show got high on acid and walked off a pier at the waterfront (near the venue) and drowned. It was an amazing show....I remember Gilmour's guitar on the intro of Sorrow shaking the ground...
