Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a band suggestion from @heysi this morning. He sent me a list so I'll be going down it over the next week. First up, The Police! Everyone's familiar with the hits, but I'm gonna feature some lesser-played selections. Going with a couple off their 1980 album, Zenyatta Mondatta. Hope you enjoy.

Today's shave was on par with yesterday's. Easily a tie! Returned to Taylor of Old Bond Street and their excellent "Lime Zest" shave cream. Fantastic crisp lime scent with excellent lather built with the Rich Yuengel synth for three passes with the Timeless TRBR38 and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, followed by Czech & Speake "Cuba" aftershave lotion and EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Looking forward to the weekend!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with another band suggestion from @heysi this morning. Next up, The Outfield! As with The Police yesterday, everyone's familiar with the hits, but I'm gonna feature some lesser-played selections again. These are two of my favorite songs by them that (AFAIK) didn't get much radio play back in the day. Plus, I remember seeing the video for "Say It Isn't So" and coveting the bass Tony Lewis used! Hope you enjoy.

Another great shave this morning! New soap day with yesterday's arrival of "Destin Breeze" from @thecajunblade. As with his other soaps, the scent was super nice with excellent lather built with the Shore Shave synth for three passes with the Feather AC straight and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel and, since we're on a "Florida" theme, I finished up with Murray and Lanman Peruvian Florida Water.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: On call this weekend and have had three trouble reports already. Storms moved through yesterday and the lightning fried the network interface units on some people's houses. Easy fix, just annoying. But, it's easy money!💰

Hope you have a great day. :)

Say It Isn't So is my favorite song from their first album. I have the same Fender Strat that the touring rhythm guitarist plays in the video. Black over Maple, large head stock.

Thanks again for picking my suggestions.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Continuing on with band suggestion from @heysi. Next up, Aussie rockers, Men at Work! Again, trying to avoid some of the band's more well known hits, I'm going with a couple that are my two favorites. Hope you enjoy.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Bergamotto" soap and splash. Incredible scent with excellent lather built with the Shavemac synth for three passes with the '56 Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, the matching skin food splash, Pecksniff's talc and Acqua di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Sunday - Fun day! Take advantage!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Metal Monday" and today I'm going with a couple of classics from Metallica (and another @heysi pick) off their second album Ride the Lightning. Hope you enjoy.

Wonderful shave this morning. Returned to my vintage Shulton Old Spice ensemble with soap, aftershave, talc and EdC. Classic "Old School" scent with excellent lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the '56 Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion, talc and EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not the best night's sleep. Felt like I was waking up every half hour. A great shave and coffee are helping.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Men At Work were an important band for me. They were the first band that I liked from the very first song. I was lucky enough to see them while Greg Ham was still alive. He brought so much energy to the show. Plus....the man could play the sax like a master. Both those songs are omnipresent in my life.

Metallica was a band that a friend brought to me. He is a bass player and he practically dragged me through his front door so he could have me listen to Cliff Burton reinventing the bass sound on Master of Puppets. Within a few days....I had purchased the Masters album....along with Kill em All and....of course....Ride the Lightning. Not a single bad song from the first 5 Metallica albums (ok....Escape is a slog) but anything from that era is gold.

This is a good band with a nice sound. I recognized both Overkill and It’s a Mistake, though I couldn’t have named either song. Mellow ‘80s pop . I enjoy this singer.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Continuing on with another @heysi pick, today I'm putting a light on 80's pop darlings, Duran Duran. I was a fan of these guys from the start after hearing their 1981 eponymous debut. As a bassist, I loved John Taylor's playing! Looking back, it's interesting how this band (and many others of the period) navigated the rocky shoals of change as the 80's ended and the 90's began. Some fared better than others (Depeche Mode IMO had the most success in this), but this era of the band did yield some great tunes. And so today I'm going to feature a couple of my favorite songs off their 1993 eponymous release (commonly referred to as The Wedding Album), Hope you enjoy.

Best shave of the week candidate this morning! Returned to Stirling Soap Co. and their excellent "Lemintense" shave soap. Fantastic Lemon EO based scent (along with some earthy lemongrass as well) with incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the '49 Executive and I finished with alum, Quinn's "Grapefruit and Orange Rind" witch hazel, ETHOS Grooming Essentials "Nuage De Citron" skin food splash, Pecksniff's "Grapefruit and Citron" talc and Acqua Di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Gonna be miserable the rest of the week. Heat indices will be anywhere from 100° to 108°!

Hope you have a great day. :)

I'm a huge fan of Duran Duran.....and these are two incredible songs.

108 degrees? Ha.....that's what it was at 10:30pm last night.

Humidity.....14%. So nope.
See, that's the difference. I can (and have) handle 100° plus temps at 14% humidity because you experience evaporative cooling when you sweat. That doesn't happen when it's 93° with a 72° dewpoint (like today).

What Mark is saying is his crotch is much more swampy. He just doesn't want to brag.
If there's one thing a fat man does well in an Alabama July, it's sweating..

As far as the current status of my crotch...

Here's another nugget. Summers here in the south east are bad enough, but God forbid you live near a corn field! There's a phenomena called "Corn Sweat". No joke, this is a real thing. Corn fields can, through a process called evapotranspiration, contribute 3.5K to 5K gallons of water to the atmosphere per day. And that number is for a single acre.

This software setup looks wonderful! I never have tried an Ethos, this one looks right up my alley.
