Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 62
Fantastic shave today with the Williams. Wonderful lather built with the vintage Phoenix Shaving "The Peregrino" synth for three passes with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip". Finished up with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel and Irisch Moos aftershave lotion.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Moving slow today. Some pretty bad weather moved through last night. No damage done (that I know of) but it's still raining so I haven't gone out to check. Hopefully we still have all the shingles attached.

Great shave this morning. Fantastic lather built with the vintage RazoRock 400 SE synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive. Finished up with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, MEM Corp "Timberline" aftershave lotion & Coty "Aspen" EdC.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Chilly this morning! Could have one last frost Wednesday morning. That's typical here. Normally the first frost happens in October and the last in April.

Phenomenal shave this morning. Great lather built with the Phoenix Shaving "Amber Aerolite" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed. Finished up with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel and Aqua Velva "Musk" aftershave lotion.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Brrrrr! Another chilly start. Not the best night's sleep but a great shave and coffee are helping.

Starting something new here at WMRK Internet Radio (All Hits - All The Time) with a segment I'm calling "On This Day". And so, here are the top two songs on this day in 1975. Hope you enjoy.
After 65 days straight with the Williams soap, I decided to take a day off and go with something new. Had gotten in a couple of bowls of vintage 1930's Renleigh shave soaps and after doing a couple of test lathers, I've been eager to use them for an actual shave. Wonderful lather on par with the best out there. Super thick and slick. Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished up with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, a splash of Pitralon Classic aftershave lotion & Houbigant "Fougère Royale" EdP.

What I heard is Mark is tired of Williams soap, which any rational shaver would be. FTR, I used Williams soap for a few years in the 1980s, when there was nothing else available at the drugstore. On rare occasions there would also be Colgate, which I also used. Vastly superior soaps on the market today from which to choose.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Some wind and rain last night but nothing too bad. A couple of towns over got golf ball size hail!

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 67
67 days and the Williams soap is still delivering the goods. The scented preshave soaps I mentioned came in and it's nice having some fragrance to go along with the superb lather. As stated, the soap itself didn't need help, but the preshave soap kicks the slickness up to 11! Also the new brush from Eric arrived and it's wonderful, whipping up a super thick and slick lather. Three passes with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished up with alum, & vintage Shulton AS, talc and EdC.

Wonderful shave this morning! By now you know how I feel about the lather produced by this soap. Superb in every way for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '57 Gillette Red Tip and I finished up with alum, & Dana "English Leather" aftershave lotion and EdC. This frag, along with Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur, IMO has the least drop-off with regard to scent quality when compared to vintage versions of the same.
