Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Closing out my workweek with a couple of classics from Led Zeppelin. Hope you enjoy.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 28

A great shave with which to close out the month. Like yesterday, incredible lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Peregrino" synth for three passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed, and I finished with a splash of Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, followed by Castle Forbes "1445" aftershave balm and Rogue Perfumery "Bon Monsieur" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: First, the results of the PAA synth / Williams combo is about as good as it gets. Second, decided this morning to forgo any more shaves on this blade. Didn't get a "bad" shave, but after three passes I did have irritation on my neck. Wasn't the lather's fault. That was just as good as yesterday's. Third, after watching several of the @BarberDave shave videos and hearing all the glowing talk about the CF "1445" balm, I had to try it. He's right (as usual). Incredible stuff! A little goes a long way. Fantastic scent and very soothing. Absorbed quickly and didn't leave my face feeling tacky.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Going with a couple of songs today featuring famous artists singing backup in the song. Hope you enjoy.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 31

Wonderful shave this morning despite being rushed. Phenomenal lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Star-Craft" synth for three passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Milord and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Ogallala "Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns" aftershave lotion, a dusting of Clubman talc and Ogallala "Double Strength Bay Rum" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Great fun in the Zoom call last night! I really enjoyed it and will definitely join in more of them.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

In "light" of Tim's / @MilkCrate adventure in the dark this morning (see what I did there), here are a couple of songs about darkness. Hope you enjoy.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 32

Fantastic shave this morning despite being rushed again. Exceptional lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Solar Flare" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Clubman "Virgin Island Bay Rum" aftershave lotion, a dusting of Cussons talc and Murray and Lanman "Florida Water" splash.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Moving slowly this morning. One of those nights where it seems you're waking up every thirty minutes. Coffee and a great shave are helping. Storms moving in this evening.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 33

Another rushed but fantastic shave this morning. Incredible lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Peregrino" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '61 Gillette Fatboy and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by "Layrite No.9" aftershave lotion, a dusting of Clubman talc and Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Atomic Age Bay Rum" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Storms ended up not being too bad last night. A lot of wind though. Another restless night. A great shave and coffee are helping.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Still traversing the land of "No Hit Wonders" today in the "Realms of the Obscure". Hope you enjoy.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 34

Great shave this morning. Fantastic lather as usual, built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Peregrino" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '67 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "Bay Rum & Leather" aftershave lotion, a dusting of vintage Avon talc and Dana "English Leather" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Practice with the country band last night and I'm very excited with how quickly things are coming together. New guitarist and drummer and both are phenomenal musicians. As a bassist, it's important that the drummer and I are able to "lock-in" on the rhythmic side of things. Second practice together and it's as if we've been playing together for years. The guitarist is fantastic as well. Great expression in his playing and he can play in such a way as to mimic the sound of a pedal steel guitar when needed. Our fiddle / keyboardist / guitarist Jane-of-all-trades is back as well. She's a music teacher and brings a LOT to the band. We're shooting for May to start scheduling dates.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Our pilgrimage through the "Realms of the Obscure" continues. Today I'm featuring a couple from the Aussie band, The Expression. Hope you enjoy.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 36

Great shave this morning. Fantastic lather as usual, built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Green Ray" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Superior 70 Bay Rum splash, a dusting of Clubman talc and "Florida Water".

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Crystal is doing well. Some discomfort but that's to be expected. Changed the dressing today and it looks pretty gnarly. Nice and warm today (near 70°) and some of the trees are beginning to bud / flower. This synth didn't do as well as the Peregrino in building lather. Too soft without adequate backbone.

Hope you have a great day. :)
