Let's All 3017... The 2021 Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Edition!

I started with a partially used tub at 120g total including tub weight.
I see I’ve taught you well. You’re training is not complete yet. Next you must scrape the last shave’s worth of soap out of the tub and throw it in your clown puke tub, proclaiming you’ve achieved the 3017. Only then will you become a 3017* Master!

Shave #6 today and the tub weighed 120 grams afterwards. IIRC, it started out at 166 which means that I have used 46 grams. This means that I am using ~7.6 grams of soap per shave. That sounds like a large amount to me. However, the shaves have been ultra slick and I have been "hate loading" the soap.

If I can keep going with this soap, (It is beginning to make my face tingle. I guess one of the fragrance oils is starting to not jive with my skin.) I should be able to finish it in under two more weeks.

If I finish it before the end of the month, I guess I will switch to the Smoked Black Tea partial tub that I have.

Razors: Cowboy Dubl Duck/ Gillette Red Tip
Blade: Voskhod
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: LNHC Somali Rose (6)
AS: Skin Bracer

Shave #6 tonight. Still going strong...but so is this soap. I'm gonna have to start loading like it owes me money! It's all good though, 6 shaves is just the beginning right? Plus, at least the soap and scent are great. It would be really tough if it was something I didn't like.

I think the low structure, ultra yogurty nature of this soap kinda lends itself to more substantial use per shave. It's super slick but it doesn't really fluff up, and therefore you end up using more soap to have lather for the whole shave.

Shave #8 today...definite donut ring status now. Another great shave but I am getting the itch for some variety. I’m going to resist though! No cheat days for me!

I’ll try to get a soap tub pic/weight tomorrow.

The hole in the bottom of my tub about quadrupled in size this morning. I have at least one more shave, but not sure if there will be any more than that.

Forgot...here’s where I’m at (120g starting point, including tub weight):

Shave #8 was really good today. I will weigh the tub again in a day or two. There is still a substantial amount of soap remaining. I think the badger brush that I used today didn't pull as much soap from the puck as my synthetic brushes do.

Shave 10 in the books! Still a number of days to go.

As a side note, I bloomed the soap only once during this challenge but didn’t feel it held any advantage over loading from a dry tub with a damp synth, so I didn’t do it again. Though it did seem like that day and the day after I used a lot more product...

Is the version of Lisa’s soap that you’re using on the softer side? I usually don’t bloom softer soaps for this reason.
