Let's All 3017... 2020 CBL Tonsorial Edition!

I'm just finishing off a tub of T+S Kyoto (it hurts to say goodbye) after that I might join in. Considering who my Rudolph buddy turned out to be, it might be a viable option.

Okay...I might be in on this. Though I reserve the right to change my mind about the CBL soap I am using and much like @Dave in KY my attention span will likely get the best of me and I will likely bow out before the soap does!

3) bentheduck - Club CBL
4) Dave in KY - Fresh Lime

OK, I debated over this for a while, but I’m in. I’ll be using a Beta Puck which is on the smaller side, and won’t last as long as a new full tub. So, hopefully this will be done in well under a month. My puck weighs in at 1.8 oz (51 g). It will be interesting to see how long it takes to use it up, and get a grams per shave number that I can apply to the rest of my tonsorial pucks. I should be done with my CBL testing and John’s new soap testing just in time for this on the 1st.

I think it would be interesting for everyone to track and calculate their grams per use average to compare. I’m pretty sure most did this last year. It’s pretty simple. Just weight your puck, and divide by the number of shaves at the end. If it’s in a tub, you can weigh the whole thing now, and subtract the weight of the empty tub at the end.

I'm still working on finishing the T+S Kyoto, so if you guys can live with me doing working on both simultaneously then I'm in for January. Basically I'd take 8 'cheat days' with T+S and do the CBL all other days. If there's still something remaining at the end of January I'll probably reconsider then.

Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Laser Ultra (New Blade)
Soap/Cream: CBL Premium Soap - CBL Tonsorial - Balsamic Oud (3rd Shave)
Brush: Stirling Synthetic
The Penultimate Aftershave: Humphrey's Lavender Witch Hazel
The Ultimate Aftershave: Aqua Velva - Ice Sport

Starting the CBL 3017 that just goes completely against my character. For as long as I can remember, I have been a man of variety...never settling on one thing for any length of time. So I am not sure how this is going to work...but I will give it a try.

The CBL Soap of course whipped up a nice and creamy lather...no fault there at all. Balsamic Oud is a really nice and light fresh smelling soap. So this will give me an opportunity to use up some aftershaves that don't have much longevity and use some fragrances that I have.
