Chris gets award for longest video so far in the Cadre...................I think. Nice video Chris !!

Thanks Dave! You’re probably right, I just can’t seem to keep the time down to a good level right now. My longest is 33 minutes lol.

Open blade shave #163:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (6), Gillette Prewar Fat Handled Tech, Wilkinson Sword blade (6), RR Big Bruce, Honeybee Soaps Cucumber Melon, homemade Brut AS decant, and vintage Avon Blend 7 to close!

Typical 3 pass day today. Once again, against my better judgement, I have the Wilkinson another shave. Today was definitely it’s last leg. It was cutting decently but felt unpleasant overall. It definitely gets binned as soon as the alcohol wash dries.

The Feather continues to do an outstanding job. I am slowly regaining my skill at the WTG rounding of the chin and the reduction is very good in general. The Feather Pro loaded this time may not make it to 15+ shaves, but it’s doing fine for now.

I revisited the Honeybee sample today. I loaded about heavier than yesterday, but still got about the same results. The lather was just lighter on the skin, the slickness was there, the postshave feel is good, but the residual slickness is not the best and it’s not a cushion-y as most soaps. I will note that the lather did thicken up a bit better with the heavier load, but that feeling of lightness remained for some reason. I’m going to keep the sample puck whole for now so I can revisit it later. I actually really dug the scent of it today.

The Blend 7 had a bit of a funky initial smell. It was a bit boozy, I could swear I got hints of nutmeg and allspice as well. I did look up the scent notes on the samples yesterday but I don’t remember any of them, and I think I’m just going to blind try them anyway. As the Blend 7 settles into the skin, it still has a little off note. This one is tolerable, but definitely a no-buy.

I got a nice surprise yesterday at work. Since Monday’s are my normal day off, whenever a Monday holiday pops up, I sometimes get an extra day off the preceding or following week. This time around I get tomorrow off! So Friday is actually my Friday, and I’ll have a nice 3 day weekend with the family! Definitely starting things off right by trying to sleep in tomorrow lol!

Still bingeing Star Trek: TNG. I’m in the second season right now. The main characters are developing wonderfully and there are a couple downright, laugh out loud episodes so far!

Have a great day all!

Nice news on the long weekend. I have a Honeybee to try at some point too. I just makes me think of Col Conk though.

I’ve never tried Col Conk, honestly it looks just like a glycerin bath bar. The Honeybee’s at least got some normal puck feel to it and a good scent. It’s a good value soap in my estimation.

That’s heartening! It’s definitely not something I’d pick up just based on its looks lol.

All the soaps like that in glycerin base are funny little beasts though. It is for sure a user but way down on the performance like low Tier 2 soap for me. Scent wise it gives you a very good experience and it's kind of like Arko for me, a must for any new wet shaver or any wet shaver rather to at least try once.

....Still bingeing Star Trek: TNG....

I'm an original Star Trek fan, and when TNG first came out, I wouldn't watch it - LOL. But I came around....eventually.

The original is still the best. Kirk could definitely hand Picard a Trouble With Tribbles sized whoopin!

Nice one Chris...still have your video to watch, but caught up for the most part! Honeybee is a different kind of lather than other soaps...but it's good for what it is.
