Shave #51 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, Stirling 2-band synth brush, CBL Roasted Oatmeal Stout soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Lucky Tiger AS, and Humorous/Terre D’Hermes to finish!

Up to get ready for taking the missus to the airport and then heading out to church. A bit overcast and chilly as the day gets rollin.

A more gourmand focused shave today as I pulled out Chris’ original ROS with special anniversary Guinness base. Such a scrumptious scent and a fantastic lather. Generous sprays of Humorous TDH clone with a couple sprays of the real TDH from a sample. Glorious!

Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Shave #52 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, CBL Sir Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Sir Irisch Moos AS, and Penhaligon’s Sartorial clone oil/Versace Pour Homme to finish!

Ugh Monday.

Great shave to start off the day/week at least. Did another freshie combo. The Moos shave played the part of a green backdrop to a frag combo of Sartorial and Versace PH layered together. They play very well!

Gonna be a busy day ahead. I peeped the work emails flowing in over the weekend as current patients got updated and new ones were brought into the system. Here we go!

Have a great Monday all!

I don’t have the original bottle anymore but I believe it was splash on cologne/fragrance, it was definitely waaay to powerful to be an aftershave splash, had to cut it with witch hazel and some other stuff.
Wait, what? The splash-on is meant as a body splash, and is less potent than the AS. I use it as an aftershave all the time.

It was way too potent for me and didn’t have any AS properties so I had to cut in other stuff 🤷‍♂️
The Moos! Love that scent my friend- sorry I’m late - I hope yesterday was fantastic for you!
Lots of running around but it was good, thanks!

Shave #53 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, TH Taurus A brush, Clown Puke tub soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Acqua Di Gio Absolu Instinct to finish!

Yesterday ended up not being quite as bad in the weekend-work catch up. Lots of new patients came in but not many interested in spiritual/emotional services this time around. It happens. Lots of running the kids around though…so thankful my job is fairly flexible.

Morning’s off to a decent start! I feel moderately rested and had a superb shave! The Clown Puke tub lathers never disappoint (knock of wood)! Topped off with a very nice Italian woody combo - Proraso Red AS with a barrage and of ADG Absolu Instinct spritzes. Yum!

More of the same today. Eldest has his first volleyball game on the home courts this evening. His brothers and I will be there to watch!

Have a great Tuesday all!

Shave #54 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, RR Big Bruce brush, CBL Sir Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Sir Irisch Moos AS, and Acqua Di Parma Colonia to finish!

Yesterday finished up pretty good! The eldest’s volleyball team did a great job winning their games; he got some play time, in the position he was hoping for, and did great!

Fantastic shave this morning! Reached for the Moos combo. I can see a bit of daylight on the other side but still a way to go before it reaches Clown Puke tub status. Finished the regimen with a healthy helping of ADP Colonia! The initial scent reminds me of a cross between Lemon Heads and See’s candy lemon drops…a balance of sweet lemon/citrus tartness with a very smooth undertone. The citrus begins to fade after about 5-10 minutes but the smooth creaminess sticks around and a very nice gentlemanly herbal powder surfaces for a beautiful, clean soapy vibe as the dry down continues. I fear this will be a skin scent before long, but at least I’ll be able to enjoy it even if no one else can! Hopefully as the bottle sees use, it’ll macerate more. For the steal of a price I got, it was a very worthy purchase!

Happy Wednesday all!

Shave #55 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, Clown Puke tub soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Dior Homme Intense to finish!

First use of ADP Colonia yesterday continued to progress well. I was able to get whiffs most of the work day, as the creamy fresh, herbal soapy vibe stuck around. Last night finished off with an OT workout that went much more favorably this time.

Today’s shave…skipped my normal freshie setup and am going straight for the heavy hitters. This morning that included finishing up the set with Dior Homme Intense! More versatile than DHP, in the fact that the notes it focuses on are a bit brighter…but still carries an overall dark, warming, leathery chocolate vibe. Excellent for this brisk morning.

Today is the youngest’s birthday so he’s getting his dinner out of choice and later this weekend, a special trip to Universal, mainly for Harry Potter World, for the family!

Have a great Thursday all!
