Shave #35 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: RR GC .68 SB, Astra SS blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, CBL Sir Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Sir Irisch Moos AS, and PR Invictus to finish!

It’s Friday! Yes! 😎👍

Decent sleep and a great shave to jump start the morning. The GC has provided a week of excellence shaves…the Astra SS struggled a bit mid week but back through strong this morning. Not sure what’s next in the rotation…probably an injector! Finished with some generous spritzes of Invictus, excellent!

Solo dad weekend ahead. Dropping the missus off at the airport later this morning so she can fly up to represent the family at our pastor’s mother’s service tomorrow for support. Other than that and an out of town volley ball tournament the eldest wants to go watch tomorrow morning, it’s gonna be fairly normal.

If anyone wants to watch/listen to the sermon, it’s done. Maybe not my best, but it’s OK:

Have a great Friday all!

Did you see the grey hair and glasses? GearNoir right from Noir to GearOldManGrump in one step.
Research has suggested that capsaicin from chili peppers, may limit a portion of the age-related changes that occur in our cells. Maybe if he ate the chip, he could have avoided the gray!

your sermon was shorter than your average past shaving videos 😂
He enjoys stringing us along more......

Chris, that was a good sermon. Thank you for posting it. I would watch more, if you would post them.

Shave #36 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Parker Adjustable Injector, Tactonic blade, Spartan Burl brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Proraso Red AS, and Perry Ellis Oud Saffron Rose to finish!

Pretty darn good day today so far! No OT workout this morning, we did our classes earlier in the week since the missus was heading out. So I got to improve my sleep-in game…9am is when I woke up! That’s pretty dang rare around these parts! It was great, I really needed that.

Normal chores to get done around the house. Otherwise a chill day.

I was saved from 3 hours of driving and waking everyone up early by my eldest’s volleyball coach…who strangely told my son to not come to the varsity team tournament to watch/support. Weird, but he accepted it (might not have gone over so well if I’d have said it lol) so I’m letting it lie.

Fantastic shave this morning. Switched up to the Parker modern adjustable injector which is pretty mild but gives a really great shave with some practice. Spartan Burl faux horse brush was on point today…love the soft flop and yet it has no problem loading and lathering elite status like any other good synth brush…only con is that it sheds pretty consistently about 3-4 fibers per shave. Totally forgot about my Oud Saffron Rose sample laying around. Really under-publicized, but gorgeous, manly rose scent…excellent longevity.

Hope you’re all having a great Saturday too!

Hey my friend - do you prefer injectors? How is the Tactonic blade?
I do enjoy using an injector quite a bit! I love my vintage Schick M the most. Really solid piece of shave gear that pretty much face roll easy to get a great shave.

The Tactonic blades are pretty decent. They’re the brand that come with the Parker. At first I thought they were just rebranded Personna, but they do feel a bit nicer I think. Still not as nice as a Chick blade though.

The fact that these are adjustables really appeal to me - adjustable are my razor equivalent to citrus and boozy scents (and if they’re stainless steel - that‘s like a boozy citrus barbershop - the trifecta)! I have an adjustable injector coming my way from Supply company - I did their kickstarter last fall - so the razor should be shipped in the next week or so.

Cool! Looking forward to your thoughts. I had tried out the v2 of the original design, with the 3 removable plates, but just could not get a decent shave from it. Hope you have a better experience!
