Shave #21 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” Brass General, Feather Pro blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and Mr Burberry to finish!

Ready to have a sleep in day…🥱

Great shave this morning. The Steel Grey Fougere is the closest of the two in 3017 rotation to being finished…I can see some daylight through the other side but still have a ways to go I think before I can call it quits. Finished off with some serious overspray to kill my Mr Burberry sample. Sad to see it go. I’ll need to add a Burberry frag back in the den at some point I think.

Thank goodness it’s Friday! Hope you all have a great one!

Shave #22 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” Brass General, Feather Pro blade, Sorrentino TSC 1st Anniversary badger brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and TF Oud Minerale to finish!

Ahhh Saturday! Got a little sleep in…got my OT workout in…got some yummy coffee and pastries in. Great start to the morning! Taking care of the chore biz now.

A nice cleansing shower n shave while I wait for the next laundry cycle. It’s a sunny, warm day in SB with a high of 70. Seemed like a great day for some Oud Minerale! So that’s what I dun did!

Some bummer news going on the last couple days on top of all the world troubles. My pastor (who tapped me for the chaplain job), her mother has been in the hospital due to COVID (she’s vaxed and all that but elderly and had other additional complications) and wasn’t doing well, so my pastor went up all emergency status to go visit. The mother had a series of rebounds and dips when she arrived, but now the doctors believe she isn’t going to make it. On top of that, one of my pastors trips to the hospital, she got t-boned to boot, car totaled. Then yesterday, the missus got in her own accident when a work stuck backed into the front of her car in parking lot…ugh. So prayers/good vibes all around are appreciated. Thanks for letting me vent that some.

Doesn’t life know it’s the weekend?! Take a break for goodness sake! Anyway…hoping for some sort of improvements come the next day and a half. Guess we’ll see!

Hope your Saturday is much better! 😂

Shave #23 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” Brass General, Feather Pro blade, Graydog Art Deco brush, CBL Sir Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and CD Homme Intense to finish!

Bit of a groggy morning as we get moving for church. Nothing a shave can’t help though!

And it was a really great one too! Usual suspects as far as software and hardware. Did swap in the Graydog and Dior Homme Intense for the play of the day. Magnifico!

Our pastor’s mother did end up passing after about 6 hours of hanging in and fighting. The end was peaceful though and the hospital made a special effort to get family in. Few of the deaths I’ve been privy to in the last 6 months have hit close to home as far as affecting my deeper emotions. For some reason this one, touched deep a bit. Unsure why…I didn’t really even know her as well as some of my past patients. I’m thinking just empathetic response for our pastor who is a close friend. Just enough to help let go of some of the sum total of whats accumulated so far. Thankful that the struggle is over for this one.

Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Shave #24 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: Colonial “Armored” Brass General, Feather Pro blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, CBL Barba AST, and Bottega Veneta Illusione to finish!

Tired but it is what it is 🤷‍♂️

Great shave at least! 3 smooth passes and some great, clean scents to kick off this day!

Hoping the insurance calls the missus early so we can get the car assessed and in the shop early. A rental would be great to lessen the inconvenience! Fingers crossed!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Catching up and sorry to hear about your pastor's mother as well as your wife's car - I'm sure it wasn't easy being there with their family but glad to hear the end was peaceful. Hoping for a rental for your wife!

I’m sorry I missed the weekend posts my friend - I really hope this week ends up being a good one for you - sorry that the weekend ended up having frustration and heartache.

You and your family are in my thoughts!
