If you have to do something...

Chris, just can't get it going this morning.. šŸ˜

Darn overweight toddler heads! šŸ˜‚
My wife can't be bothered taping off before painting, which drives me nuts. Painting gives you instant gratification, which is always nice.
Oh man...if itā€™s gotta be clean and straight, I have to tape. Canā€™t stand errors!

This is another area where you spend the money on a good 2ā€ angled Badger brush. And learn how to wield it properly. Tape is for measuring and sealing up boxes šŸ˜‰ my $.02
My old boss didnā€™t want me ā€œwastingā€ time with that crap. My time was his money. Soooo I had to learn how to use a brush.
But if you want to tape they advertise that new frog tape I think that supposed to be good.

Angled brush would probably help. As would removing the doors (these doors are like heavy duty grade though and well over 100 lbs) and other stuff. Since Iā€™m doing it on my own though, amidst other random tasks that pop up throughout the day, I have to ride the fine line between cheap and careful. šŸ˜‚

Shave #49 (456 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Gillette Prewar Tech, Bic Chrome Platinum blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, CBL Money tonsorial soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and ADG Profondo to finish!

Iā€™m up and at work but half awake...does that count? šŸ¤”

Nice shave this morning. The Tech might not give the most BBS of BBSs but it does give BBS and it does so with a high level of comfort and brainlessness!

Two more shifts to get through!

Have a great Thursday all!

Shave #50 (456 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Gillette Prewar Tech, Bic Chrome Platinum blade, Yaqi Rainbow w/ pony synth brush, CBL Money tonsorial soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, RR The Stallion AS, and ADG Absolu Instinct to finish!

All right, Friday! Letā€™s do this. Nice light rain overnight and into this morning. Sadly itā€™s not supposed to continue much past the next hour or two...hoping for otherwise.

Great shave this morning. Not much to say thatā€™s different. Soap hole got a little bit bigger...I donā€™t know if itā€™ll be done by the end of the month though. The Stallion and ADG Absolu Instinct compliment each other in a strange way; smells good at least!

First meeting with my new mentoree later over a cup of coffee. Hoping this goes well. Talking is hard for us introverts!

Have a great Friday all! Almost there!

Going back through my 12 Whiskeys of Christmas sampler in reverse order. First time through was neat, second time through was with some drops of water, this time Iā€™m pouring the last third over an ice cube. Not changing my rankings though.

Tonight last 1/3 of #8: Craigellachie 13 year Speyside Single Malt Scotch

Scent: Super malty off the top with an underlying butteriness. Hint of peat lurking in the background. It smells very light and like something refreshing over ice though.

Taste: Still on the oily side. Super malty in taste, still with that dose of peat. Juicy on the tongue. Oaky, on the verge of bitter, slightly charred finish. Little bit of dry smoke.

Still way better neat.

Blended Malt Scotch Rankings:

1) Naked Grouse (neat)
2) Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 year (neat)
3) Monkey Shoulder (neat)

Shave #51 (456 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Blackland Vector, Proline blade, SV/TSC Il Re Tasso dā€™Oro brush, SV 70th soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

Pretty darn good nightā€™s rest and a chill morning before chore time.

Superb shave today with some of my best items. Vector/Proline combo was flawless. SV brush/soap duo whipped up an elite lather in seconds. SV AS makes my skin feel amazing! Guerlain Vetiver was the cherry on top.

One day to soak up the R&R. Tomorrow itā€™s back to a 5 day grind.

Have a great Saturday all!

Tonight last 1/3 of #9: Ardbeg 10 year Islay Single Malt Scotch

Scent: Phew...holy icy peat Batman! Ardbeg takes on a medicinal, bandaid, peaty glory, with an icy twist. Not the most pleasant smell.

Taste: Peat Bomb! Whoooo man, that is not the most pleasant taste either. The flavor is explosive, sharp, and ick. šŸ˜µ

Shave #52 (456 Open Blade Shaves) of 2021:

Gear: Gillette Prewar Tech, Bic Chrome Platinum blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, CBL Money tonsorial soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Mandom AS, and ADP Colonia Intensia to finish!

Here we go...new day, new work week!

Back to the work week faux 3017 as well. Continuing on with the Money tonsorial beta puck and Prewar Tech. Proven results.

Yesterday was nice once chores were out of the way. We also got word that our local school district is looking at going back to in-person classes around April. I hope they can get it together with a solid plan to keep the kids safe!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Great shave! I really want to get some of that Colonia Intends.
